Great product. I am not experienced with epilation. I have researched it on the web but this is my first time using one. My advice is do read the instructions. I figured that it was self explanatory so the first time I used it a few days ago I just ran it across my leg like a razor. The instructions recommend using small circular motions. I would say that I have fairly thick hair that grows on my legs. When I initially did it with the same motion I use for a razor I did indeed notice that the hair was being cut off and not pulled from the root. This in turn left me with a wicked ingrown hair on one of my legs. I am a single mother of 2 with a hectic daily agenda so I did not have enough time to do more then the one leg that day. I later read the directions and when I found some time tackled my other leg. This time, with the more precise small circular motions, I noticed that I would say over 90 percent of the hairs came out with roots intact. As far as pain, as I said I have 2 kids and a few tattoos therefore the pain was not as bad as child birth but I can easily compare it getting a tattoo. It has a pinch feeling with a mild burning sensation afterwards. As most people using hair removal products know beauty comes at a price, small amount of pain to endure with the possibility of only having to use it once a month or so. So I would give this product 5 stars and recommend to a friend. Great product, great style. UPDATE: I have now been epilating for a few weeks. I am enjoying the end results very much. At this point all I can say is that my pain tolerance has gotten significantly higher or the skin that I epilate is getting tougher. I can say that I am no longer having any issues with ingrown hairs. Also that there are certain areas of the body that are going to hate having a epilator on it (arm pits and bikini line). On an additional note, I have read in previous posts about epilation where people say they are very hairy and once they epilate that they no longer have to do it except for once a month or so. This is something I find to be untrue. I would say when it came to shaving I had to do it everyday to keep any hairs from growing back, with epilation my legs still need to be epilated every 3 days, I have noticed that my arm pits and bikini line (where hair is obviously thicker) need less epilation (every 5-7 days) which to me is a win, being a fulltime mom, employee and part time student anything less frequent is better :) Hope this review helps with your purchase!

I bought this last week after reading tons of reviews on epilators and watching what seemed like 100 YouTube videos on how to use them. I bought this primarily to use on my legs and underarms, and while I know that epilators won't give you that silky, "freshly-shaved" feeling, I feel that being hairless for a few weeks at a time is worth the trade off. Anyway, upon first use, I hated this thing. It was painful and it wasn't removing many hairs. I considered returning it. However, I gave it another try, this time following instructions from the packaging (I know, duh, right?) and also some from online reviews. To make this thing work (and it DOES work), be sure to use it right after a bath or shower, BUT YOUR SKIN HAS TO BE DRY AND FREE FROM OILS/LOTIONS/CREAMS. Also, while in the shower, EXFOLIATE. Use a loofah, scrubbie, whatever. It will prep your skin for the epilator. When epilating, hold the machine at a 90 degree angle with your skin. Pulling skin "taut" can help with the pain of it's too painful. Honestly, my legs weren't painful at all. My underarms, however, were. But if I keep consistent with using it (1x per week, I'd say), then it really won't be painful at all because the initial, coarse hairs have already been removed. After epilation, MOISTURIZE!! That's super important. I'd say overall, I'm really happy with this purchase. It works and it's super compact (great for storage and travel). The price was right, too!

With a different brand I could do this once and go for WEEKS without ANY hair regrowth, and it really only hurt the first time. This one, however, I can use it and have a thick growth days later, as if I had just manually shaved. It doesn't pluck well: a ton of breakage, no matter the length of the hair, and this results in a lot of pain each time--as though each time is my first, extremely painful time--as breaking is generally more painful than the actual plucking. It never gets better with this model. Also, WARNING: There is a "cover", but it doesn't cover the rollers, and these rollers--no matter how lightly the epilator is pressed against your skin--cause friction burn and bleeding, while unfortunately, still not doing it's job. This all results in pain. Pain while not actually doing any good. Not when you have to shave again manually days later after letting your armpits heal. I'm just really glad I missed my return window so the raccoons at the landfill get the chance to enjoy it as much as I did.

I have been curious about these for a while and finally caved in and bought this one. It does work, but you have to keep in mind that hair grows in different cycles so you might notice stubble sooner. The hair that was epilated stayed smooth for days. I used the epilator a week ago and those hairs still haven't grown into stubble yet. So it definitely works. With pain while using this, I would have to say it depends how well you deal with pain. Some people it may not bother them while others it will. With my experience it did hurt at first, but as I continued it wasn't as bad. Although could be because the hair was already out, lol. It feels like what plucking feels like, but less painful than waxing and less messy. This epilator is not battery operated and comes with a plug. It has 2 settings, which if you have coarse hair, I recommend the 2nd setting as it'll make it quicker and less painful. As for the facial area, I'm not sure it's recommended, but I used it and it does work. If you try it on your face, I recommend the low setting and make sure to pull your skin tight and be careful around the lip area as it may pinch if not careful. I included multiple pictures for a closer look at the epilator for anyone who's curious of a close-up look. This is a good epilator for a good price. I also want to add that if you have coarse hair, taking a hot bath before using it will help open the poors and loosen up the hair for easier less painful use. Do not use any lotion products before use and make sure your legs are dried well. This may sound strange and I don't know if anyone else has done this, but after I finished using the epilator, I rubbed my legs with astringent to clean the pores and waited a day before using lotion.

Self torture for smooth legs. But, it also means I only have to waste time about once every 2-3 weeks to keep my legs hairless! So, I think it’s worth it!

I really love epilating (in general) I find it painless and provides long lasting results- however I have way too many times gotten my skin caught in this . It really freaks me out when I have to yank this device off of my arm or leg & once on my armpit… that really sucked! I would never use this device anywhere near bikini area 😖 I thought it was just me but I never had this issue with any other epilator I’ve had. After I just got the back of my leg caught in it again, I decided that was it for me! To be a little more specific I have been using this device for a couple years now and have gotten my skin caught in it over a dozen times. And not just a little bit - I came on here only to see in the other reviews that it’s not just me! This actually makes me feel somewhat better that I don’t just have saggy skin 😂 I’m dumping this epilator for a new one.

So it’s definitely uncomfortable to use, no surprise there. I am chunky like super chunky and I have lost weight so I have some extra skin and if you don’t pull your skin tight it can kinda snag some loose skin an give you the pinch of a life time! Plus size problems lol. I used it on my legs and tried my under arms. Legs were easy went slow and it did a good job! I just shaved the day before yesterday so my hair was super short. Under arm was most difficult and painful. But not completely impossible. Video is of my skin on legs after use. Red spots are from where hair was pulled out. Update it broke on me on my second use. So I returned it.

This is my second Remington and works great. It is a bit loud but comparable to others. I got this again despite being wired as I did not want to take a chance on other fancier ones. My first one lasted about 8 years so I will be happy to be about the same amount of years from this one.

I just used this epilator and I absolutely love it! It's my first time ever using an epilator, so I was nervous to try it since some people say it hurts a lot especially when you've never used one before. But I have to say, not only does it do it's job, the pain was barely there for me. If you're someone who is used to waxing, tweezing, or even threading any sort of hair off your body, then I'd say you'd be just fine using this. This product has two settings - a low and high speed setting, and with my hair quality, I found that the low setting works just fine with my hair (I have dark but fine hair - it does say in the manual that if you have thicker, coarser hair, that you may need to use the higher setting). I used this on my legs and arms, and besides the initial twinge that you feel when you're tweezing your eyebrows, it was nothing to me. I found I had to go over some areas more than once to make sure it caught all the hair, but that wasn't a big deal. I also used this on my under arms, which admittedly was harder to do and slightly more uncomfortable, but again, the pain wasn't very much to even comment on. Only thing to note is that this is not cordless, so no battery. It has to be plugged in to work - I don't know why, but I expected it to be cordless for some reason. It also comes with a little brush so you can clean the hairs off the epilator, and you can detach the head so you can rinse/clean it. For the price, you really can't go wrong with this! EDIT: Since writing this review, I have tried it on my husband (funny I know lol). My husband isn't that hairy, but he does have small patch of hair on his chest in the valley between his pecs, so I tried it on there. As per my hubby, it was slightly painful but not too bad. HOWEVER -- he has extremely sensitive skin and it's been three days and there is a fair amount of redness still there, almost like his pores are inflamed. The day after I used the epilator, he said his chest was very itchy too! So if you know you have sensitive skin or any sort of skin issues like eczema etc, TAKE CAUTION before using this.

I liked the product but I thought it was used on re chargeable batteries, but it runs off the mains electricity . This was not what I wanted so I have returned to the seller.

I have never used an epilator before - and considering the price I was a bit skeptic about the efficiency of this product, but let me tell you IT WORKS! You will have to spend some time in each area of your legs as the head tweezers/area of the machine is small, so you'll have to go over it a few times, so it is a bit time consuming but it does the job very well. It will hurt more than waxing, so expect a bit of 'tweezing' like pain. I mostly use this product on lower legs, so the pain is tolerable. After using this product I notice a bit of redness (like dots on my skin) but that happens because of the hair pull, but it goes away in a few mins.. I use a cooling gel for after waxing and it helps a great deal with that little bit of irritation. The only cons are 1: it's not cordless, so the cable might be a bit of a bother dangling around.. and 2: the hair will fall all over the place. It doesn't have any compartments to keep the hair while using the machine, so it's a bit messy. I use it in or over the tub to make sure the hair doesn't get all over the floor... or just sweep afterwards lol who cares.. Make sure you clean the hair as soon as you notice build up. the machine stops from pulling out the hair effectively 100%, as the hair accumulates under and around the tweezer head, and it doesn't work as well like that.. It comes with a little brush so make sure you keep it hair free for best results. All in all For the price of this product I am pleased with the results I have gotten. I use it once and forget about leg hair for at least 4 weeks. It's worth it!

This is my second one, replacing one I bought back in 2015 after regular weekly/bi-weekly use (I have thick dark nasty Eastern European hair that grows annoyingly fast for a female, yay me!). I'd say 6 years was a pretty good track record for under $50. :) Yes, epilators take getting used to, all are a bit painful at first-ever use... but I adjusted quicker than I expected to and won't turn back. Easy to clean, and this should the minimum number of tweezers for good coverage. I wouldn't go with fewer, or else you'd have to spend too much time over the same patch of skin, which could chafe. Also, I recommend a corded model regardless what brand you buy, I don't want to imagine what ripping the hair out slower and slower with a dying battery would feel like! Update: Oct. 2025: just bought another one. They seem to last about 4-6 years, depending how much you use it. I was curious, so I took my last one apart and sure enough, the same plastic gear (as on the 2015 one) inside the main body that turns the tweezer cylinder snapped loose and there's no good way to anchor it back in place. Might still try to fix it, keep it as a backup. From what I can see, it's the one weak part that's regularly doomed.
