FolkArt Painting Stencil, 30607 Birds

I've used this with shimmer spray and distress stain for a subtle background on cards. They turned out well. It's sturdy enough for repeated use. I always throw my smaller stencils in a mixing bowl of water with a few drops of dish liquid until I'm finished. This cleaned up with just a couple of swipes.

Bought this to use as stencil to spray paint the side of a drawer to copy something I saw in a magazine. Although I haven't done it yet, it's the perfect size and exactly as pictured.

Ordered a bunch of stencils, you can see the result in the video above. It's a lot of painstaking work though - need a lot of patience to put them on one at a time. I used the regular glue stick and blue painter's tape to stick them and paint over it with "makeup sponge". Sticking them onto the surface prevents the paint from bleeding under the stencil and will give sharp edges. for better result one should choose designs/stencils which do not have very fine/thin lines or cuts, it's difficult for those to stick to the surface and come out good.

Great stencil, I bought 2 for my wall project just in case one would broke apart or something, but I did the entire wall with just one and didn’t need the second one. I used wall paint and a makeup sponge to apply (saw a video on YouTube), because I didn’t like the result using a 1 inch paint brush. the stencil was so small and since I worked with an entire wall it took me a lot of time, like 2 or 3 days but most of the time was to refine details or change the pattern. Great material quality I’m very satisfied with my purchase.

... if you are a messy artist who isn't that familiar with using stencils (which I used to think were wussy, but are actually quite fun!), the little swirly bits tend to mis-shape and cause grief. Again, my stencil experience is very limited. And I'm a very messy artist = I don't really store my supplies "as reccommended by the manufacturer". 'Bet that if you are super gentle.carefully wash after each use, and replace it in it's original plastic sheath, you'll be fine.

Great quality stencil. I used as swirls coming out of a cup of coffee and on a winter scene in my art journal, but so versatile, I’m sure I will find MANY uses for this stencil!
