How water resistant is it?

On a scale of 1-10, 1 being it sucks humidity out of the air, 10 being it merely being around is enough to make water roll away I'd say 6. If the blanket is outside and it starts raining, go get it then curl up in it and be dry and warm, but don't leave it outside. I bought this blanket and I'm very happy about it

Question 2

From the photo it appears all 4 sides are stitched, correct? So it's durable? And it's 80% wool, does the tag say what material the other 20% is?

Accepted Answer

The pictures (we all know how dependable those can be) appear to be the GI wool blanket as issued by the US Army for as long as I can remember. Only difference I can see is: no US stencil in the middle. 
Warmth- they will keep you warm. 
"Itchy"- oh hell yes. 
Durability- IF these are as durable as the GI variant, they are durable enough  to last a lifetime of "normal use."

What is the weight of this blanket and what are it's washing instructions?

For item code 7210-00-282-7950 It weighs three pounds, nine and three eighth ounces i.e. just over three and a half pounds (sorry for writing this in full but the spell checker on this site keeps correcting the numbers to letters)  and the instructions on it say "MACHINE WASH, GENTLE COOL TEMP. ADD FABRIC SOFTNER (sic) TO FINAL RINSE, TUMBLE DRY, LOW HEAT".   I haven't washed it yet so I don't know how it works out if you follow the instructions.

is this blanket machine washable?

Regardless of label, only the “ill-considered” washes any woolens in a machine. The same for drying woolens. Fill your tub, use a very mild soap or, in a pinch, cheap shampoo, immerse your woolens and let stand for a bit. Using both feet gently swirl the woolens for a bit and let stand. Repeat until any heavy soil you located  *when you decided that heavy cleaning was warranted* is gone to your satisfaction. Drain and rinse until the water does not taste soapy, occasionally swirling.
In a dry state woven wool is quite sturdy. When saturated the weave is more vulnerable to stretching and suffers agitation poorly. Anything that resembles a hand-dishwashing drain rack or a large baked-goods cooling rack will remove a surprising amount of water with NO WRINGING or SPINNING! just using gravity. Maybe one half hour to “drip dry” which is not dry. Knitted woolens are best dried on a flat rack that provides COMPLETE support to the structure of the material. A large bath towel changed as needed will work, too. For woolens that are inherently more sturdy like blankets, woven wool coats & wool-flannel shirts, once drained, roll them gently in cotton towels to blot out the water. Change as needed until it seems like it is merely damp. Hang to dry on the best wide supporting hangers you can find or finish drying on more flat cotton towels. 
Realistically, once a year is about right for hand-washing. Most important is moth-PROOF storage whenever the woolens are not in use. 
Note that dried-out wool is much like dried-out hair except that woolens can not defend themselves. Read up on restoring ‘moisture’ ( fat & oil ) to your woolies. Inspect them often and they can easily serve you for 50 years — not kidding — no exaggeration. The clip with this is of a pair of Malone Pants I have had since 1975 though I had to let out the waist.
