A set of all Mudtool Sponges. The White Finishing is made with a tight-cell material and is less absorbent than the Blue Workhorse. It is excellent for finishing work, final detail and clean-up of surfaces and won’t pull out grog or other materials in the clay body. Think of it like a chamois sponge. The Orange Absorbent is the perfect throwing sponge. More absorbent than the White Finishing and the Blue Workhorse. The Blue Workhorse is a great all-purpose sponge made of an open cell material that is very absorbent. We’ve shaped it like a potters rib to fit comfortably in the palm of your hand. Dyed with a natural pigment, the color will fade with use.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: What are the uses of the three sponges?  I've heard the white is for smoothing work but what about the other two?**
A: The white is a finishing sponge for groggy clay. It smooths the grog back down for smooth edges. It's the only one I use for smoothing and finishing groggy clay. The other 2 are used, as noted,for making and throwing on any type of clay.

**Q: What is the best way to store these when not using?**
A: I use mine almost daily so theoretically I don’t store them. When they dry, they are hard, just like they were when new. I don’t think storing them would be an issue.

**Q: Has anyone used this item on unfired ceramics?**
A: What do you mean? 
I used it to sponge glaze on bisque fire pieces and on the wheel when I’m making the piece to absorb excess water.

**Q: Lost of actual material ingredients?**
A: Not sure what you are asking. If you mean do the sponges wipe away a lot of the clay, I’d say no.
