I am not the biggest fan of appendix carry but will carry in that position from time to time. In my opinion, the concealed carry market is a bit over saturated at the moment with a variety of holsters out there by both big name brands and smaller custom shops trying to get your business. Where the Desantis Slim Tuk fits in is if you want a basic no frills kydex holster for appendix and/or hip carry, it's a very good option for the price. Are there better kydex holsters out there with that come with a sweat guard, has a tighter hold, is a smoother draw, etc., well yeah but they also tend to come with a steeper price tag. I am not saying you should always cheap out on your concealed carry gear so this is the one to get, but if you are comparing the Slim Tuk to high end kydex holsters, the function of the Slim Tuk gets the job done just as well even though it may not feel as nice or durable. One thing I want to point out is that the lack of a sweat guard on the Slim Tuk can definitely create a comfort issue, especially if you are not wearing an undershirt and the the slide of the pistol is rubbing against your bare skin. This also means on a hot and humid day you are going to get more sweat and dead skin on your pistol. I find that a lack of a sweat guard makes re-holstering a tad harder too, but you can work around that issue with training. In conclusion, if you want a decent IWB kydex holster from a big name brand then I recommend the Slim Tuk. I grab it whenever I am out and about for a few hours at most and need something easy and functional for my G43. However, if I were planning to carry my G43 in that position all day on a regular basis, then I would pick something more high end with a sweat guard.

This holster is a good value and built very well. It is very thin which helps with less bulk and weight, and gives plenty of options for ride height and cant with adjustable retention a nice audible click when holstering the firearm.

Great for the minimalist. Comfortable and holds its shape. Concealed very well. Although I am still getting used to carrying appendix style, I have always carried strong side owb. But this carries deep enough and gives nothing away to nosey individual's. But I still think carrying a firearm with the business end pointed at your business is a bit unsettling. With that being said, it handles the weight of the firearm bery well, the clip although being plastic/polymer is very strong. Albeit the S&W Shield .45 is not that much more weighty than my Shield .40. Now my wife carries the .40 s&w instead of her Ruger sr9c which she was reluctant to strap on seeing as she has a small frame, and let's face it, women rarely wear clothes that are able to conceal well. I will be purchasing another for the .40s&w Shield for her.

I've been carrying my G43 and G43X in this holster on a daily basis for the past 3 months. It's well made, very comfortable, and stays tucked in nicely during movement. My only "complaint" is with the belt clip. A two hole clip is supplied with holster, and although it is strong, sturdy, and not very difficult to put on and take off, I found it carries the weapon just a little too high on the belt. This is only my personal preference, many people like a high carry and will be perfectly happy with the supplied belt clip, but I prefer the weapon to sit a little lower in the waist band, giving it a smaller profile, which is less likely to "print". On the bright side, DeSantis makes a longer, three hole clip, which is available directly from them, and lowered the carry height to exactly where I wanted it!

Fits the G43 perfect. It needed the tension tightened up just a couple of turns. The gun will NOT fall out in any case, as another reviewer was concerned about. From other reviews it appears desantis is not putting the second hole in the clip on all holsters, or they are forgetting it on some and the quality control is lacking a bit if this is supposed to be in all clips. The FINISH is not really good on this rig. It rough and the edges are not beveled. This makes the holster dig into your skin and it's rough causing abrasion. Desantis should know this already. Because of this, this rig is not really good for all-day carry. For my use, I'll be using it for a couple of hours at a time. I've attached two photos. One is of the edges compared to a DARA holster. The difference in finish is a big deal and desantis needs to use the same bevel/finish and they will sell more. The other pic is to show the lack of second hole in the belt clip on my holster. The ride height is a little too high for my taste however it will work for what I need it for. If the edges of this holster were finished and rounded off as kydex/nylon should be I would have given it another star. Update : I used this holster at a wedding and it was very rough and dug into my side pretty bad. Probably one of the more uncomfortable iwb plastic holsters I've used to date. I used it for 5 hours straight. It still works great and desantis is sending me a replacement clip that has two holes as it should have. I got the newer style clip from Desantis without much delay. They are a good company. I hope they round off the edges of this rig for others in the future
