Yes this is automatic. It keeps very good time when it's worn everyday. I enjoy having this watch in my collection and even though it isn't worn everyday it is very simple to set the time and date when I do chose to wear it for a while. I am very pleased with it.

Do the numerals glow in the dark?

Sorry just took a look at the watch there is no glow above the numbers.
