The Science of Religion (Self-Realization Fellowship)

This book was ghost written by a childhood friend of Yogananda’s on his behalf, although recent editions from SRF don’t mention him. The book is quite distinctive in its style, being much more “matter-of-fact” than Yogananda’s style. And that’s not to say either one is inferior. In fact, Yogananda’s works are unparalleled in their ability to draw my spirit upwards. But this book is a beginning. It’s a primer for what will be to follow in Guruji’s life and legacy. It’s thoughtfully developed and philosophically airtight. I enjoyed this short book very much, and I’m so very glad it’s still in print. Aum. Peace. Amen.

This book very clearly lays out the fundamental need, the search of happiness, of all mankind and how this need may be fulfilled scientifically. Excellent introduction to a scientific search for Truth. For the serious truth-seeker, the next logical step would be to subscribe to Yogananda's SRF /YSS Lessons series.

I love this book!

a great book by the profoundly spiritual Yogananda. I wanted to trad this after re-reading his Autobiography of a Yogi. I must admit this book is a bit more difficult to read than the Autobigraphy, but it lays out his views on the essense of religion.

This is a copy of Sri Yogananda's first lecture when he arrived in America, in 1920. You may feel that he brought with him the wisdom of the ages...and a whole new way to look at religion.

Having read much of Yogananda's writings, I am still finding new insights in his message for Westerners. This is worth the read, but give yourself time to ponder just what he is saying.
