It’s extremely simple to use—just plug it into an outlet and the indicator lights quickly show whether the wiring is correct or if there’s a problem like an open ground or reversed wiring. I used it to check several outlets around the house and it worked exactly as expected. Picked this up to help diagnose two outlets that weren't working. Told me I had an issue with a negative wire, pulled the outlet out and sure enough, the wire had popped off. The tool was 100% spot on in diagnosing the issue. Its compact, cheap, and works. Can't get better than that.

Does the job, works fantastic

Very easy to use. Gives you a general overview of how your outlets are wired. Does not take the place of more sophisticated (and expensive) receptacle testers or an assessment by a qualified electrician, however

Klein has a better one for a few more bucks, but IIRC that one required a battery for it's nifty display. So you could count on that battery being dead at some future point when you find yourself needing an Outlet Tester. Sometimes simpler is better. For less than $15, toss this in your kit and it will beready when you need it.

True Klein product. Works as it should. Love it for assessing electrical outlets.

I am not an electrician, but when I realize that my charging devices are hotter than they should I use this to insure that there are no wiring faults to damage my electronics. Professional quality and is easy to use. It is a valuable tool to have.
