I've heard of other products becoming powder after a year.** A: It is really hard to say how long it will last. However, keep in mind that it is raw clay that is not being fired or changed in any way but other than letting the water evaporate out of it. It will not last forever, but it could last anywhere from a few weeks to several years. If you want something permanent, consider a ceramic clay that is fired in a kiln. **Q: Does the clay actually dry hard? As in solid and rock steady, or softer and crumbly.** A: Hard. Not hard as a rock; certainly breakable but not soft and not crumbly. Good for plaque, tile, figurines, beads etc **Q: Will the clay dissolve in water after hardening?** A: Yes it does, but I have used a water safe glaze on it after painting and had no issues. I made a sponge bowl for my clay work just to see if it would work and so far after 6 months of use the water has not damaged the sculpture. It is fun to use, it is really moldable, and has a nice consistency. I have used by itself and to smooth out 3D prints. It takes a long while to fully dry by itself as you’d expect with any clay, but it is nothing outrageous. As for 3D prints, I dilute it with water to form a paste, put it on the 3D print, and then sand it with sand paper. The paste dries very quickly and sticks well to PLA.
