Im thinking about getting a game for my children. Would you recommend this game?

I bought this for my 3-year-old grandson for Christmas and he loves it. But before we could play it as a game, we had to set it up so he could tinker around with it and figure out how it worked. He wanted to see how those bees went down those holes! We immediately got a big ziploc for all the pieces, but other than that no complaints. And I wouldn’t lower a 5-star rating for that.

Is this game appropriate for a 6 year old girl for a birthday gift or is it too "young" for 6?

I bought it for a 3y/o and she is not able to set it up independently or even really help w/ that aspect. A 6y/o should be able to do it. I, myself think it is fun, so I would say 6 is not too old. I've played it with a 4 and 8 Y/O before and we all enjoyed it. I think it would depend on how "sophisticated" the child is, but I don't think it is baby-ish.
