However, the K100 blankets are also coated in a layer of silicone, which improves performance in a fire situation. Therefore, this means that the K100 fire blankets are more suited to higher-risk environments (eg. commercial kitchens). **Q: Is this also suitable for wrapping around an adult in case of a clothing fire?** A: No, this fire blanket is not big enough to be used for a clothing fire. The current British standard (BS EN 1869) states that 'only fire blankets of minimum size 1.2m x 1.8m and above' are suitable for clothing or personnel fires. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A safety must-have *by on Reviewed in the United Kingdom 2 April 2024* I bought one of these a little while back to hang in kitchen for peace of mind, like an idiot I left something flammable on top of the cooker and turned the wrong knob on, causing a not insubstantial fire. Grabbed the blanket and pulled the tabs down and it came out and unfolded itself in a trice, ready for use and prevented a more serious fire. It put the fire out straight away and kept the smoke enclosed so there wasn't too much smoke damage. Of course you can only use it once so I bought a replacement straight away as now would not be without. Very good quality item, easy to use and does the job.
