EG STARTS 2 Player Arcade DIY Kit Arcade Joystick + 16x LED Illuminated Arcade Buttons + 2 Player + Coin Buttons for Raspberry Pi 3B Model Project DIY Parts (Red and Blue Colors)

Simple install and plugged the USB into Raspberry Pi setup with RetroPi. Mocked it up on a cardboard box first to get the feel of how I wanted the buttons. 2 player kit came with all the parts shown plus some spare parts. Did not include hardware to mount the joystick or board to the wood. As shown in the seller’s photo about half the buttons had to reverse the wires to get them to light up. Weird, but a simple fix. A couple things that are not explained and I figured out with a little fiddling: 1. To take apart the buttons twist the switch about 1/8 turn counter-clockwise. If you want to change the image squeeze the white tabs to release the button then pop the top off. 2. The “Easy switch from 8-way to 4-way” on the joystick was not easy to figure out or do the first time. My video shows how. This one is loosened up a bit now, first time was stiff and tricky. Also note there is one position that will allow the center ring to fall out.

Everything works the way it should except the bulbs. Half were burnt out and only two replacements worked. The rest were also burnt out. 5 stars if all the bulbs would’ve worked.

Another fantastic set I use a lot for my arcade builds. The quality is excellent, and the joysticks feel great—smooth and responsive, making gameplay a lot of fun. Just finished the build. Works great and I very happy with the result.

Most of the buttons light up ,and can be use on almost any device ( with the proper adapters)

So it took me awhile to get to this point for my build.. 2 months but now i find one of the joy sticks is not working correctly. after my first power up.. to windows computer for testing .. push down and it goes to right bottom.. push right it goes to right bottom. push left bottom goes to right bottom.. as far as LED lights had about 6 that were backwards. But it was easy to just pull bulb not wires and flip it.. if you try to pull wires they seem to almost super glue themselves on so instead of doing it that way just pull and swap bulb 180 degrees .. hope i can get replacement stick..... Still haven't tried with ras 4 yet so ill know in next few days how that goes

For the price this set is a good value for a basic stick. There were a few issues but nothing too bad. Some of the buttons have the LEDs installed backwards. Luckily the LEDs are intranet in a plastic carrier, not soldered so it's easy to flip them back. The links and qr code on the instruction sheet for technical information are broken. "Up" on the joystick isn't marked and can't be changed due to the fixed connector so you need to figure it out experimentally before installing. Spring pressure on the buttons is fairly high, bit they should break in after awhile. Controller board identifies as a standard 2 axis joystick in Windows, which is nice. No special drivers required.

Well... You get what you pay for. Pro: all of the buttons and sticks work. Windows detected both encoders and loaded a generic controller driver. Cons: Most of the lights for the buttons don't work. Replacement bulbs dont work either. Buttons feel very stiff and slow and are VERY loud. Not in a clocky way, in a extremely cheap spring way. Sticks work but not very quick in response. If you can't afford premium buttons and sticks and want a set that will work but not very good... These are for you.

Die Verarbeitung ist durchweg gut, die Buttons wirken optisch hochwertig. Auch die Buttons haben eine starke Feder, die sich durch Kürzen anpassen lässt und haben einen etwas längeren Weg bis zum Triggerzeitpunkt. Buttons können Quitschen; mit etwas Schmiermittel vor dem Einbau aber kein Problem mehr. Gut geeignet für die meißten Arcade Spiele, weniger für 1on1 fighting games. 0-Delay PCBs: Die PCBs haben keinen spürbaren Eingabedelay.

Good components and the cables are saving me so much time

I bought this to upgrade my Mortal Kombat II Arcade 1up cabinet I just bought used to upgrade with a PC etc. Following the many videos on Youtube made it easy and this hardware works really well. Easy to install and cable. Everything works, only mapping the keys is trickier than it could be in my opinion, but doable. Lights all work. Interestingly not all the buttons are wired the same, so you may have to swap the Red and Black on a few. I found most were red cable to the red side, but some were the other way around. This is just to get the lights working, as they are LED and require the polarity to be correct. Very happy with the end result. Enough buttons to allow you to choose colours of buttons and I added a couple as suggested by Youtubers, and there are enough in this kit to allow you to do it. I had a small issue and contacted the seller through Amazon. They responded immediately with good solid advice which sorted my very small issue. Nice to get such a product and service from China.
