Ants Took It Immediately โ Gone in 2 Days
This Advion Insect Granular Bait is seriously impressive. As soon as I put it down, I could literally watch the ants swarm it and carry it away right back to their nest. The real test was what happened nextโwithin about 2 days, the ants were completely gone. No more trails, no more activity. Super easy to apply with the shaker bottle, and it clearly does exactly what itโs supposed to do. If youโre dealing with ants or other perimeter pests, this stuff works fast and effectively.

Review for Southern Louisiana Fire Ants
Within 10 seconds of putting the bait down (I had a trail of fire ants in my house (yikes!) an ant picked up a granule. They didn't "swarm" the bait, but I did notice over the ensuing days, the little pile of granules getting smaller and smaller. It took a solid week, but eventually the ants went away, AND all the ant hills in my front yard died about a week later, too. So....apparently, they brought the bait from inside my house, to the piles outside, which were all one big colony. For good measure, I sprinkled my front and back yard lightly with the granules. My cat was absolutely repelled by the odor, (though it has no discernable smell to my nose) so safe around cats. Birds apparently dislike it as much as cats. I usually throw birdseed down in my backyard to feed the Cardinals, but after applying the Advion, the birds wouldn't go anywhere near the seed. I bought a bird feeder hung from a tree, and they eat that with gusto. So, it appears that cats and birds are repelled by Advion which is a very good thing! I tested it on my neighbor's dog, just holding the lid about 3 feet from her nose, caused her to retreat in fear. Still, keep out of reach of pets, just to be safe, and away from children of course. I bought these refillable ant bait stations, and put them at inaccessible locations around my house. If ever a red fire ant decides to go scouting for food, it will alert the whole colony to those baits. My verdict, this is BY FAR, the best fire ant poison on the market. The ants love it, and it takes about a week to kill the ants, that long delay allows the poison to be spread deep within the colony. It's not a quick fix, it's PERMANENT fix!

Killer
I've used the Advion gel for ants as well as the ant bait traps, and they worked great. Now I had an issue with carpenter ants and the gel wasn't on their menu. So I bought some of this granular bait and it was on their menu. Three days and no more ants. I highly recommend all Advion products.

It Works
Ordered yesteday and it arrived early today. Easy to use shaker. Stirred up the anthills and then put some of the granular bait and watched the ants start gathering and bringing it inside the nest. Already used up half the 1 pound shaker bottle on 8 anthills. A little pricey for the bottle but it's working so far for controlling the ants. Now to see how long it will last.

Works Pretty Well for Infestations
I purchased this product recently after a recommendation from an employee at Lowe's and I am pretty satisfied with the results. My Aunt's home has a pretty bad roach infestation and I have been steadily trying to assist her with remedying that whole situation. This seems to have put a major dent in their colony although, they are not completely gone. Initially, I thought it was working pretty well. When I went back to check her home the next day after I applied the initial applicatoin, I noticed a bunch of them dead on the floor. I went back every day and kept finding more here and there. I also was using the gel bait at the same time to make sure I killed these nasty little things. Well, it's been a month and she still has roaches. This does work but it's not strong enough for a really bad infestation in my own opinion. Last year we bought this for our home and we only had a few roaches and it knocked them right out and within a month we were roach-free. That's why I chose to use the same product, because it had worked for me. I can say with confidence it works on a smaller infestations. This infestation at my Aunts home has been unfazed by this at this point they just don't even eat it when I sprinkle it down. I spoke with a professional gun man and he told me that If you have never used it before it works well the first few times. It should be noted however, German Cockroaches are sneaky little thingsand adapt very quickly. They become immune to whatever bug spray or roach killer you put down. That's why its not phasing them now. These subsequent generations have likely become immune to the product that is inside of this. I still recommend this product but make sure you are using it when you see the first signs of roaches. If you don't get them from the start you could end up chasing them around with a vacuum cleaner and can of some kind of instant kill bug spray. That's where I am at now.

Very effective!
First, I hate fire ants. Second, I'm in central Texas, so they're everywhere! In the past, we used the powder to sprinkle on the ant hills, until they started popping up inside the house this summer. We placed the little ant bait things everywhere, but couldn't keep up. So, I bought this after seeing a recommendation by NYT Wirecutter. I didn't think this small amount would last long, but they're small pellets, like cut up spaghetti, and they work wonderfully. Just sprinkle on ant hills, or wherever you see a colony, and watch them carry the pellets away. Later that day, no ants were in the room where we sprinkled these. With that being said, if you're using this indoors, make sure no animals or people get to them. We put a small amount where the ants were coming in and closed off the room. Later, when the ants were gone, we wiped the area down with spray cleaner to get rid of any residue and eliminate the ant scent trails. Then we sealed up the corner to hopefully prevent anything in the future. Also, when using it outside, be sure to consider other wildlife. I've made sure to not use this anywhere near our bird feeders, and to only use a small amount that the ants carry away within minutes. That way a bird won't mistake it for seed and get sick or die. I also don't feel the need to keep my entire yard bug free. Just enough to keep the fire ants from setting up shop in my house or around my patio. Just, please use responsibily!!

Not for Texas fire ants.
I wanted this to work on fire ants. I watched them take the bait into the mound. But all treated mounds still alive and well 3 days later.

Very impressed!
Bought this off of Amazon, $23. Tiny long granules, longer than the ants. They were dragging these granules around within 2 minutes of me placing granules in a safe place. Safe place away from pets and kids. Then I actually poured a pea sized amount in a spoon and used another spoon to crush into smaller pieces. That was 2 days ago. Did not see many ants the next day, and today have not seen any at all. They take this back to their nests and kills the entire colony. Please keep away from kids, pets, and eating areas. I also sprinkled some outside at their entry point.
