Speedo, if a suit is not transparent when wet, why put a liner in it? Cut out the liner and it's the perfect suit!
The reviews are true to form on the sizing as maybe being a little small. In my case, I am on the small end of a Size 32, so I was afraid to order the 34 for maybe being TOO big. So I ordered exactly what I wear and true to form, they were a little tight around the legs. However, with frequent uses, I think that will stretch a little and be just fine. The thing I love the most though is the length and the fact it won't be baggy. Now the only downside to my suit is I don't like squished, and you guessed it, they were tight, but grabbing the scissors and cutting out the white inner liner very carefully made the suit more comfortable. I may be 53 years old but I still have youth in me and I have a cliff at Greer's Ferry Lake Arkansas daring me to jump off of it. It's a great feeling to know I will not be embarrassed at all to wear this around the younger generation when I make my leap, nor will I fear it coming down or off because of the secure inner drawstring. . Thank you Amazon for a great shopping experience, and thank you Speedo for a great product. As you can see, the suit looks on me is identical to what it shows in their picture. Perfect!

really bad design for men with the tight seam down the middle
I have a 10 year old Speedo square leg swimsuit that still fits nicely. This new version is a terrible fit -- seems to be made for women due to the tight seam right down the middle.Your stuff can only fit on one side or the other and is very visible.Just a dreadful re-design of what once was a great product.I had to throw it out.

It's not your uncle's speedo
I originally purchased these for use in our hot tub as the jets and bubbles made traditional swim trunks uncomfortable. An added benefit is they stay on in rough surf while body surfing. I’m 6’3” 212 lbs and a 36-7 waist. I usually wear a 38 swim trunk but the 38 was too tight, the 40 fits perfectly, it’s comfortable and modest for a speedo, not like the European style. Fabric dries quickly, doesn’t bind and the suit is not too tight where it shouldn’t be too tight.

Good fit and quality.
I bought to replace a TYR Sport Men's Alliance Durafast Splice Square Leg Swim Suit that became thread bare, its seams opening after just 3 months. This Speedo suit fits my 37.5" waist (actual measurement) nicely. Like the TYR, it has no pouch, just a front liner, which is larger and thicker than the TYR. The larger/thicker liner is more comfortable and offers better concealment. The suit materials feel thicker than the TYR too and is advertised as longer lasting. We will see.

Snug at first but perfect after one use. Go by your exact fit. I'm 33 & fit into a 32
If you dive or kick off the wall while lap swimming you need to have tight compressed trunks. I think at first they were a bit tight and blood felt trapped in my thighs but evenually that feeling went away. I'm a 31-33 waist and I fitted into the 32. I have a muscular tush too. It was difficult to take off when wet the first time around but it got a lot easier after you break them in. I have two other trunks that are looser and I don't like to use them for lap swim anymore, instead I use them for yoga. If you want something for Bikram yoga you can up the size by 2-3 sizes for flexiblity. That being said, anything larger would be more comfortable for casual swimmers but for me if I had followed the reviews and up the size by 1,2, or 3 times I would of experience trapped air bubbles, felt an increase in drag, and the trunks would of slipped off diving or kicking off. Skin tight is best in my opinion.

Too short
I thought these would fit given the fact that I ordered them 2 sizes too big. Still didn't. Sizing is a joke.

Not as comfortable as Lycra
Bought this suit because its supposed to last longer that Lycra suits. They are not as comfortable as the Lycra but are ok for short work outs. Time will tell if they last longer for daily pool swimming. I'm a 40 waist so I bught a size 42 which is too loose. Will buy a 40 since the price is right.

Catastrophic Failure
These are comfortable and 100% chlorine-proof so they don't fade. That's great but it also means that you might not realize when it's time to replace. When they fail, they do so catastrophically by ripping along the seam. Happened to me yesterday in practice when the seam ripped completely open in back.I think you can tell by looking at the overstitching along the seam. When that starts to disappear, you're playing with fire. The older suits had a white overstitching but it looks like the new ones might have a suit-colored overstitching.I swim a couple times per week and this pair lasted me a couple years.

Comfortable and appropriate
You may take one size larger if you want it a bit loose. It fits snug and reduces the drag. Original speedo apparel.Go for it and you will not regret it.
