The story of television horror hosts Roland and Zacherley as told in John Zacherle's own words supported by over 200 vintage photographs. Zacherley set the mold for other television hosts who followed. Review: Zach is Back - This is one of two new anthologies, brought to us by Horror Host legend Zacherley and "Scary Monsters Magazine" columnist extraordinaire John Skerchock. Zach published 2 horror story anthologies in the early 1960's, so these (long-overdue) volumes are a scary sight for sore eyes. If you are a Zacherley fan, or if you are an avid reader of John Skerchock's magazine column, or if you like "old-fashioned" horror stories (or all of the above) I recommend this volume and its companion, "Zacherley's Midnight Monster Tales". Review: Disappointing book about a beloved horror host - I was expecting good things from ZACHERLY ILLUSTRATED. The cool Ghoul is a long-time favorite of mine and I have several books about him already. I had hopes that this would be the ultimate Zach book. It is not. The photos reproduced have been used many times before and are quite grainy and dark--the fact that the book is not printed on a slick stock makes them look even worse. The comic strips that accompany the photos are interestingly written but suffer (to my mind) from a crude look that makes them difficult to read and properly appreciate. All in all an effort that doesn't quite come up to the level I had hoped.

Not worth price
Stories are generic and book is very sloppily produced. Obviously a throw-together with no value.

lousy book
i was rather disappointed because i thought i was a book about zacherley's life story. what i got amounted to nothing more than a comic book, and not very funny at all.
