The people who make these boards don't care about the longboarding community.

I'd say this is an overpriced board. After learning more and more about longboarding and pulling off some slides. Here's what you wanna do if you wanna get this board. Upgrade the bearings to Zealous bearings. the bearings that come with these are awful, you will notice a world difference. The bearings that come with these are cheap chinese bearings that you can't even open and close back because it's once and done. That means you can't clean it and relube it with something that's actually decent. The trucks are just rip off trucks. Perfectly fine for cruising but it squeaks more than a rat. Put some wax shavings in the pivot cup but it's not gonna fix that the trucks are bad or completely get rid of the squeaks. Get some Paris v2 43, or Caliber II 44. Forget about buying new bushings. Calibers and paris are pretty cheap on amazon and they're good trucks to start and end your skating journey. You don't need to upgrade the bushings when you're starting off but once you're getting better, look into venom barrels. The deck is great, grip tape is applied awfully, lifting at the foot pockets. It's a drop down deck so it's great for long distance. It picks up speed faster because you're lower to the ground and it's more stable because you are lower. The wheels are just no name chinese brand wheels. I recommend to upgrade to some snakes freeride wheels, butterballs, blood orange morgans or orangatan stimulus. the order is in the way I would prioritize for myself. But snakes are good. You're really paying for the design of the board which I like very much. Infact, I got two. But you're paying so much money for a decent deck with garbage parts that no one else would want. There's so much choices on amazon for a longboard that has the exact same shape but cheaper. If you don't care about the design, get one used on amazon for around 40ish dollars and take the hardware off and buy the ones I recommend. My setup : Blue board: Caliber II 44 Satin black, super bones red bearing, and the original wheels. Black Board: Paris v2 43 black, Amphetamine hybrids, and the original wheels. The people who make these boards don't contribute to longboarding community. They sell cheaply made boards and don't put out videos nor sponsor longboarders to bring in more skaters which in turn bring in more money to real longboard companies who share the same passion as us. Why does that matter? It keeps the longboard community alive. I got some new wheels coming in and the original wheels are perfectly fine for cruising. i'll put them up on ebay.

    IN MY OPINION

*by S***N on Reviewed in the United States on August 18, 2017*

I can always identify a good skateboard when I see one and this one is no different- especially for the price. I live in ASU campus where there are overpriced skateboards everywhere and none compare to the simplicity of design that is this skateboard. It was loosely packaged, imo (they could have used more cushion inside), but luckily mine arrived with no damage. The spokes are silver and look excellent. I believe they're steel or some other inexpensive metal- not a problem for me. I'm skateboarding, not trying to be the silver surfer. The wheels are kind of soft- I imagine for a smoother rider and designed for like a wooden coast path or smooth pavement. I dont see that as a problem, again I'm skateboarding, not trying to off-road in coal and sulfur the thing. The screws are all in tight- which is a plus because I didn't buy a ratchet. The wheel screws are nice and tight but not too tight that slows speed. BTW, the wheels are kind of soft, so expect to purchase new wheels in at least 5 months if you are a ROUGH rider. On to the things that pleased me most: the color. I cannot get over how premium this coloring is. The wood is a very deep dark brown and the blue is a dark navy blue. These colors are so chill you could probably get away with riding this thing in a suit. If a competition of looks are concerned, this wins hands down- especially considering sometimesthere may be dirt on the ground- and we all know those lighter boards are hideous when dirty, we may not have that problem with this board. Overall I give the board a 5/5 for presentation, mechanics, and time of deliever. (I paid the extra to get it in one day). For this price, I am very impressed. Also, the top black layer of grip is Rough. It will literally eat you, be careful if you're like me and carry your board behind your back.

Buyer Beware! Kingpin broke after 2 months.

*by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on December 28, 2017*

The board is cheaply made and it shows. The included hardware is a joke. One of the kingpins broke in just 2 months of moderate riding. The bushings weren't very good, but that comes down to taste really. The washers for the bushings, however. Those are awful. They are far too thin and when I tightened the trucks to my liking it warped and bent them, which made loosening them back up a nightmare since none of my tools could properly bite on the nut. I had to replace the bushings out of necessity, not preference which is annoying. The trucks actually seem fine (other than the kingpin snapping) but it appears like they are slightly bending. I'm not sure if they come like that, so I'm not sure if that's an actual issue or not. I only weigh 165 so if they are bending than that is just absurd. The wheels are bad. They are a strange mix of soft and hard at the same time. They didn't roll particularly well and they didn't slide at all, the square lip isn't even the cause of that, I can kick out square lipped wheels all day, these ones just were just irradic and had no consistency even after the skin was gone. They also got hung up on bad patches of road and could get completely stopped by a measly rock that any good wheel would go right over. The wheels tore just after a month, forcing me to replace them out of necessity, which is again, super annoying. The bearings were bad, but that was to be expected. They rolled smooth, but the internal lube was far too thick and it caused a lot of resistance and made pushing an un-enjoyable experience. The board itself is 9 ply's of disappointment. It has a little bit of flex, but not a bouncy, reassuring flex, more like a "this could snap at any moment type of flex." The nose and tail both chipped after being lightly curbed just once.I initially gave this board a 3 star review, but after today, i'll never buy from Ten Toes Board Emporium again. If you want an enjoyable board that isn't more work than it is fun, go for a reputable brand. Don't buy these cheap knock offs.
