I was in two minds as to whether to purcahse this alarm clock because of the cost. However, I'm glad I did. It's a very dinky alarm clock. Ideal for travelling, but I also use it for my bedside alarm clock. The build quality is ogood and justifies the price. Despite it's small size the alarm gradually increases to a point where it is plently loud enough to wake me. I am short sighted, but the display is plently large enough for me to see the time at night without my glasses. I especially like the soft touch sensor on the top of the clock to light up the display, and stop the alarm to put it into 5min snooze mode. Setting the time, alarm time, 12/24 hour display setting is also straight forward. I can honsestly say this is by far the best alarm clock I've bought for both travel and as an everyday bedside clock.

I love the small, simple, minimalist design that is not intrusive and doesn't have any random unnecessary features. The time and alarm is easy to set (one button is a bit fiddly but I think you get used to it and I think it also becomes a bit less fiddly with use). The time is visible in the daylight but not in a dark room. The screen lights up when you touch the top, but it's quite a low light that is not like headlights in your face in the middle of the night. I wouldn't want anything brighter. The alarm starts with a quiet beep that becomes louder and more rapid. It means I wake up less startled and I think I am also more awake (woken up more naturally) so I don't feel as much need to snooze and go right back to sleep. Highly recommend. It's the best alarm clock I could find on Amazon.

Firstly: it's tiny. Somehow smaller than I was expecting. The face is good, and the digits clear, but only for the 10 seconds that it lights up: then it becomes almost impossible to see the time. So it's perfect if you want a travel clock that isn't bright all the time. But if you want to know the time from the other side of the room, you're out of luck.

What a great little clock! Very light - perfect for travelling - and so easy to use! I am 80 and set it up myself without instructions. Although the time cannot be seen in a very dark room, one tap on the top and the time is instantly visible. Recommend!

A really compact , lightweight clock/alarm-keeps time really well, however even with your ear next to it when the alarm goes off it is just about audible-a few feet away & its very hard to hear it-can’t use it as an alarm so disappointed

You can’t see the time even in daylight unless you touch the top to activate the digital light. Therefore complete black out at night. You can’t use rechargeable batteries as it advises it damages the clock. Therefore for me personally it’s an issue as sometimes you wake up & wonder what the time is but if it’s placed less than an arms length away you have to get up & touch the top to activate the digital clock to know the time.

Brain make the best bedroom and travel clock, period! Growing up I had an old Braun analogue bedside alarm clock, which is a model they still make today, mine was back in the 80’s! I’ve had two similar modes to these for years in the bedroom for my wife and I. They never miss a beat and are super simple to use, to set and to take on holiday also! This one is for my son as he has now grown out of his Lego Emit one! Super clean, simple and timeless design, as with nearly all Braun clocks. This will last for years, of that I know! Great compact size for a small shelf (my son has a cabin bed so there’s no bedside table) and this will also be great for our annual trip to Ireland to see grandad! My son needs a more reliable alarm clock now that he’s getting older and is up earlier a few days a week, this will be perfect! Easy to set, and clear and simple readout and design. Highly recommend.

Although this clock is relatively expensive, it is worth it. I wanted an LCD clock with a light so there was no noise or permanently lit display (like an LED display) and there are a few that are slightly cheaper but an ergonomic mess. This clock is simple, well made, easy to use and the display is fantastically clear and beautifully wrought. In addition, the alarm sound is well set up, starting from a very quiet level, gradually getting louder until it wakes you. The ONLY small negative is that the display light stays on slightly too long; 10 seconds. But then, the light is switched by a capacitive panel that requires the lightest of touches. Nice. So the light timer is not enough to negate the excellence of the design. Recommended.

Font is great, easy enough to read the font but the backlight that comes on isn't as bright as I had hoped. If you're looking at the clock from above it's harder to read even with the light on than say if you're reading the clock on the same plane or from angling up. Alarm clock is loud as well. The unit itself is pretty light but doesn't feel cheap.
