Are these felt pieces too firm or firm enough to cut and use to insert in items to make coasters? If not, any suggestions for a better product?

They are not overly firm and rather pliable. I used them to insert into a bird nest in my finches’ cage. I don’t know how stiff you want to make your coaster, but as far as absorbing extra condensation it seems like a good thing.

They are too small to be used as plate protectors. They might work on saucers i suppose.
