Firstly, this torch looks good. It would grace any kitchen! I read the clear instructions, filled it, waited a couple of minutes and then depressed the trigger. Wow! A lovely clean blue flame which is adjustable. Used it to sear two sirloin steaks and it was fabulously easy. I will certainly be using it around the kitchen and even for lighting our log burner. I’m very pleased and I’d recommend it as a great addition to anyone’s culinary equipment.

Bought this to use for creme brûlée and I’ve also used it on the skin of peppers to peel them. Really great kitchen tool, lightweight, easy to fill with butane gas and has a lock feature to keep the flame on without having to press down. Would definitely recommend for a home cook.

Read all the bad reviews before you BUY! we should've done this ! When unpacking the lighter we noticed that there where scratches all over the chrome bit, then we noticed how lose the chrome piece was.(LOOKED LIKE A RETURN!) We filled with gas & waited the specified time to use(DID NOT WORK!) It holds gas but does not realise it! This lighter seems very poorly made & possible DANGEROUS! We also were contacted by the seller before we received item? They said in their message, can you please not return & contact us first(ALARM BELLS ARE RINGING!) In this message it also said if the lighter stays lit after use please wait for it to go out as this is NORMAL! (NOT IN MY BOOK IT AINT!) So we contacted seller & made them aware of the problem. It took them 24hrs to get back to us and wanted us to jump through hoops with taking photos & explaining the prophet again to them. So we have now opted to return straight to amazon for full refund. This lighter is terrible & I personally wouldn't touch it with a bargepole.

So upon ordering, I was thinking 'what will I use this for?' However over the past few weeks it has become such a must have tool. I've used it predominantly for cooking and it's really helped take the food to the next level. Even a simple chicken breast can be turned into something that tastes flame grilled from a restaurant. It really crisps up the crust on steaks and you can use the basting tool that comes in the box to finish it off with some butter. Really takes it up a notch. Desserts have come out really well. I've used it for meringue pie and creme brule. You'll end up using it for other random tasks as well. I've used it to help get the BBQ going and also to melt things back together again. Definitely worth the investment and you'll end up using it for all sorts. Definitely won't sit there gathering dust. The only thing i found hindering is that this torch is only really comfortable in the right hand. When you hold it in the left the lock button and the gas adjust slider kind of get in the way and you can't use their functions anymore. If they come out with an updated version I hope it's more friendly for ambidextrous use

Very useful and a must have gadget in your kitchen whether you need it for cakes or use it as a torch for lighting coal etc.. it's just excellent. I'm very pleased with this product with its meticulous finishes and a good handling. I also find it easy to charge with butane gaz and lasts quite a long time (depending on your usage of course :) Really impressed anyway and would highly recommend it.

Half Decent product for the money but hard to refill when gas runs out

I always wanted one for eveyday treats and that charred effect you can't get in the oven and finally got one. Very happy! Does the job well, easy to use and handy double security feature makes sure it doesn't go off by mistake. The fact that it is light and looks good is just an added bonus. Creme brulee, here I come!

Easy to use straight out of the box! Comes without any gas but just lighter gas canisters fill easy enough

It’s difficult to refill, the additional nozzle are useless.Apart from these issue, working and handling is perfect.
