Does NOT strip HDCP. *by A***R on Reviewed in the United States on February 25, 2018* My goal was to be able to record the sound of the game being called on the radio married with the video from Comcast (cable provider) feed. This works like a charm if you are feeding output to the TV. When introducing a DVR into the path (I want to record each game), I am getting blocked by hdcp restrictions. So, this tells me this device does not strip hdcp. If it were sufficient to just watch the end result on TV instead of recording it, it works as desired; I was able to watch the game real time with audio being called from the local FM station - Merrill Reese calling a game can be breathtaking. It should be noted that my TV's are older and while take hdmi cable, no I hedged on rating it a 4 but expect a splitter in the path will strip hdcp. A five would have been considered if it also offered component video. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It does what it is supposed to, just plug it in and go *by G***T on Reviewed in the United States on November 5, 2014* It does add a few seconds to the HDMI handshake time, but other than that minor annoyance it works perfectly.Just plug it in, set the input switch properly, and you are in business. This was the cheapest HDMI audio embedder I could find and I am glad I decided to try it out. It is very much light and plastic - I would have preferred a metal enclosure, but I was not willing to pay double the price of this one to get it.The extra delay in the HDMI handshake process is a minor annoyance, but I am not sure that it is a problem specific to this unit or if any device of this type will have the same issue. Because of that I did not deduct anything from my rating.Considering the price, I cannot find any fault with this adapter. It's still working great. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Solved a sticky problem *by J***R on Reviewed in the United States on April 4, 2014* We wanted a second TV in the kitchen that mirrored the living room TV - We'd had this for many years in the bad old analog days.I installed a 2x4 HDMI splitter and wired it up only to find that our Sony TV does a LOT of processing on the Video and Audio before it hits the display and speakers, and all this processing delays both the picture the sound. The 20" Samsung in the kitchen does very little processing before the display and speakers.Net result? The sound from the TV in the kitchen was always ahead, so you'd hear it a few milliseconds before the living room TV, which is very distracting if you were in earshot of both.I used this box to insert the delayed sound from the TV output, and now everything plays at the same time.
