Tree or Three? Student's Book and Audio CD: An Elementary Pronunciation Course (Tree or Three, Ship or Sheep)

Absolutely love this book--brandnew with ALL CDs for each and every unit. Inside every unit has the pronounciation and exercise questions to make the learner familiarize the vowels and consonants. It's a great book with high value.

Great book to use to teach pronounciation to kids who are in an English speaking environment. However, when it comes to students who are doing this in a non-English speaking environment with no access to CD players or computers, then, this product is quite limited. The old version with cassette tapes is much better in this regard.

I really like the layout and color pictures, but I am a teacher of American English and no where in the product review does it say anything about the cd's spoken content. I may have passed up this edition and gone with clear speech from the start instead.

Très bon livre pour une bonne prononciation en Anglais. Présentation claire des unités. Excellent livre pour se remettre à l'anglais,un peu difficile pour débutants les énoncés des exercices étant en anglais et ne comportant ni grammaire ni conjugaison.

This book is for pronunciation of English language. It taught me a lot about sound creation. As a Scot there are issues because the English do not know what an "r" sounds like, but I am being picky. Accepting that the base English chosen is what I would call "Mercian" (not RP) for ILTS, CELTA, ESL courses this is the perfect book all round.

Compré este libro y "Ship or Sheep" porque son clásicos en la fonética del inglés. Hace ya años que un profesor me los recomendó y yo los he comprado para mi hija que es profesora. Estoy segura de que les serán muy útiles porque gracias a ellos mi profesor me enseñó a pronunciar bien en inglés a mí. :)

中級編『Ship or Sheep』の初級編です。 発音方法は出版社からお察しの通りイギリス英語です。 当然ですが、全部英文です。 しかし、複雑な構文はなく、ほとんどが1行未満の短い文章です。 日本の中学英語を理解していれば利用できるかと思います。 発音記号ごとに合計47ユニット、各2~3ページで構成されています。 日本の発音本によくある母音・子音別ではなく、ごちゃ混ぜに出てきます。 紛らわしい発音との聞き分け問題があるのが良かったと思います。 基本的に独学でも使用できると思いますが、 ロールプレイングの部分のみはどうしても学習者に一工夫が求められます。
