Peaking in the 1960s, Pop Art began as a revolt against mainstream approaches to art and culture and evolved into a wholesale interrogation of modern society, consumer culture, the role of the artist, and of what constituted an artwork. It names the big players, gives the names, events, and moments that leaves the reader able to do more research from there and get a foundational understanding of this Art history. Definitely deserving of reading as it is well written beyond just a book with lips for your coffee table.
