My laptop main board is gone. This enclosure helped me to recover my data from my 2.5 hard drive by using USB-C from another PC. All the partitions in this hard drive is shown as multiple drives in another PC. Works great! Portable and easy to use. Great value.

The case is nicely made and sturdy. It comes with a tab to easily open it. Inserting the SSD is pretty straight forward and it just works right away. I saw no issues with loose connectors and everything is working fine.

UGREEN USB C 3.1 Gen 2 2.5" SSD Enclosure This is an all plastic enclosure, suitable for 2.5" SSDs up 9.5mm high, and will not hold 12mm SSDs. Both the enclosure and included USB-C to USB-C cable show as "UP to 10Gb/s" on my Mac. The Read/Write speeds with a Crucial 750G MX300 are consistently 450 and 480Mb/s, respectively. All in all, it works reliably and I've had no issues in a year of service, for three of three enclosures. My two minor complaints are: •It's difficult to open. The key is pressing down on the part of the removable cover where it meets the rest of the enclosure. Pulling on the orange tab is a waste of time. Once free of the catch, sliding the top and bottom in opposite directions works best. Once practiced, it's cake. •Like so many of these enclosures the Activity LED is located on the same end as the connector. in 99.73% of my use cases, the LED ends up facing away from me and is out of view providing no indication the drive is connected or active. Obviously this is to keep the electronics and connector all on one board. But at least the manufacturer could put the window on the top of the enclosure so there would be a hint of power and activity from most angles. I may end up drilling a hole in the plastic cover to see if this helps. Remember the good old days when the LED was bi-color and flashed blue or red depending on Read or Write activity? I've got three of these and they all provide the same speeds and work well. But it's time to move on to faster NVMe drives and enclosures, because I feel the need...

Seems about perfect. Just removed the HDD from the laptop, removed the plastic rails from it, and proceeded to figure out how to open this neat little case. It slides open. Slides all the way like a drawer. When paired with a quality short high speed usb-c cable data transfer speed seems really fast still- like it was still in the laptop. Can't ask for more, at least for my purposes.

Easy to setup and install, works really well, no issues thus far. Only thing to note, like most enclosures, the LED is on the same side as the USB-C plug.

Love having these much cheaper than buying the ones that are packaged in silicone and everything else basically one time use the drive is much cheaper to buy and just reuse this Gizmo

Really push down on the end as instructed and it should come apart, I mean really push! First time I thought I would never get it open, but I was being way to nice. This is about as easy a drive install as you could ever have, the drive fits snug between two bits of foam to give it some isolation with spinner drives, and protect them as well. The speed improvement from what I had before was way better using the same WD black drive out of my old laptop. Connected to a Win 10 laptop with zero issues - comes with cable and enclosure and instructions.

I received this Hard Drive Enclosure very quick! Next day. Keep in mind this is a USB C to USB C connection. I needed a USB C to USB A 3.0 connector (which I already had) You will need this cable in order to connect this drive to your computer if it does not have a C port. Had it up and running in only a few minutes. works great!

Poor performance, slower than an usb-a to SATA 3.0 cable. Half the performance on random memory access. Performance are ok as advertised if you're moving large chunks of data, but extremely poor when reading/writing small data (which matters if you're gaming from the disk or even OS operation).
