Baseplate with Dual 15mm Rod Clamp

I recently purchased the Camera Base Plate, and it has proven to be an essential addition to my camera rig. The build quality is solid, providing a stable foundation for my equipment. Muy útil cuando usas un tripode con una configuración robusta, en mi caso no quería tener que desmontar la cámara para tener que cambiar la batería. Con esta placa fácilmente puedo cambiar la batería sin mover mi plano, ni desmontar la zapata..

Overall, this is a great baseplate and when it does work, it works wonders. Not much to say about it's functionality other than it being a baseplate! That being said, be a bit weary of the baseplate's rod role tighteners. Be sure not to over tighten them. Had them get stuck on a shoot and whilst I was eventually able to loosen the threads, it wasn't the easiest thing to resolve.

This item came in yesterday. Ordered on Sunday Jan 10th, arrived the 19th from China to Chicago suburb(MLK holiday may have delayed it by a day) Out of the box instantly impressed. The plate is SOLID. Flat black metal, thick. Solid quality. Same goes for the screws. I thought I would have to replace them but negative. They are keepers too. I bought this for my Canon C100's shoulder rig and it's been on there ever since. Been doing some test such as holding it upside down over my bed to test the quality of the screws and other things to make sure it isn't just too good to be true of a steal. Other basis I've seen from Ikan and Shape Are from $150-$200 and that's just insane for a baseplate in my opinion. This cost $50 and I'm so fricking happy with this purchase. It tightens just fine too. Knobs are good, they are a little small though. I took some from Kamerar shoulder rig's baseplate so all of mine on the rig would be the same so I could tighten them with a wrench if need be. The ones that come with tighten just fine. For me it's more for uniformity, plus I have big fingers. Buy with confidence. I'll be certain to buy more items from Smallrig. If you are building a rig for a camcorder I suggest this baseplate with a cheaper DSLR shoulder rig like the Kamarer one here on Amazon or build your own. It's SOLID.

I really like this 15mm base plate. It's easy to add a quick release plate onto the bottom, using either 1/4-20 or 3/8-16 threads. You can even mount with both 1/4-20 and 3/8-16 threads if your quick plate has both. The metal construction of this is light, but really rugged. The 15mm rails are standard width apart, so you can use this with a standard follow focus or build up your own shoulder rig with this as your baseplate. There are also 1/4-20 mounting points on the front and back of the plate, so you can add articulating arms for mounting an external monitor or any other accessories that you like. Pros: Light and compact size. 15mm rails lock in tight with pressure screws. Multiple 1/4-20 mounting holes all around the plate. Cons: 2 separate screw slides for mounting camera, 1 long slide would be ideal. Overall, you can't go wrong with this plate. If you're looking to throw on a follow focus to your camera or build up a full shoulder rig, this is a great starting point.

Die Basisplatte ist genau das, was man für ein solides Setup braucht. Sie ist sauber verarbeitet, hält Kamera und 15 mm Rods sicher und lässt sich schnell ins Rig integrieren. Nichts wackelt, alles sitzt fest – egal ob mit Käfig oder direkt an der Kamera. Für mich eine zuverlässige Platte, die in keinem Rig fehlen sollte, besonders zu dem Preis.

Questo pezzo SmallRig è una garanzia. Lo uso per riggare la mia Sony A7 e posso dire che è una roccia. Tutto in metallo, lavorato benissimo, con viti precise e un morsetto che stringe come si deve. Tiene le aste da 15 mm perfettamente allineate, e il blocco è solido anche con follow focus, matte box e accessori pesanti montati sopra. La base è compatta ma pesante il giusto da dare stabilità al rig, e la filettatura inferiore ti permette di fissarla a qualsiasi cavalletto o slitta. Mai un allentamento, mai un gioco. È uno di quei componenti che compri una volta e tieni per sempre nel kit. Pro: costruzione top, blocco preciso, versatile, perfetto per rig video. Contro: un po’ pesante, ma è il prezzo della solidità. SmallRig, come sempre, una certezza: qualità da set professionale a prezzo umano.
