Why does the microphone last 8 hours if the receiver only last 4 ?

Common sense tells me that the battery in the microphone is twice the size (or just larger) than the one in the receiver.

If the microphone is 8 hours and the receiver 4 doesn’t that mean you can’t use the mic ones the receiver dies?
