Review: For its intended purpose it is a good safe. It is not intended to provide substantial ... - After reading some of the complaints and using the safe for several months I had to leave a review. For its intended purpose it is a good safe. It is not intended to provide substantial security from burglars, fires, or miscreant children. It can be easily walked off with or broken open given enough time. Any consumer safe can be broken into, the question is how long and what tools and methods are needed. I broke into another brand's equivalent safe in a couple minutes with a hammer and screwdriver when it stopped functioning. I've seen Youtube videos about bumping the safe a certain way to unlock the magnetic mechanism. If you need increased security, spend more than a modest amount on a safe that is intended to provide security and fire protection. This safe works well for easy, quick access that still provides a level of protection from access by children. I think it is satisfactory for daily carry firearms or modest amounts of cash or valuables. I bolted mine to a shelf with self-locking nuts and large washers. That should provide a couple more minutes of time, which may prevent a smash and grab. But if you have high-dollar jewelry, cash, firearms, valuables or important documents, I would acquire a better safe. The battery compartment works fine for me, as does the locking mechanism, door and keypad. It would be nice if the second shelf were adjustable and deeper, but it is fine. Review: AWESOME! - Dear desertcart Friends, I actually hardly ever write reviews, but this one deserves one. This Sentry safe is a ltttle bigger than it looks in pic, ((tho displayed dimentions are correct). I just programed my own code. (Note: each code can only be used once) It was easy as instructions said. (the house code given with it is the same for ALL this model, so be sure to change it)! AND you can send into Sentry (with Notorized ID'd paperwork as registered owner of item serial# if fjorget or need another key-small charge) The key works great as well, and alarm does not go off if key is used as back-up. Batteries popped out until the face plate was installed over them. I secured them with a sm piece of packing tape over this as another reviewer said that her batts fell out when door was closed. This did not happen but just in case... It is exactly as stated. Clean, simple, safe & secure. (especially if bolted to floor & wall as suggested)-tho only "two" bolts -no washers-were included and four holes are available. I feel it will be difficult to walk away with (if bolted down) and or get into without a lot of bad guy time involved. So all in all, GOOD investment. (unlike my stocks-which I WON"T be including in the safe) : } ## Features - Set your own digital combination with this medium-wide safe box; two override keys ensure you will always have access to your valuables; not a fireproof safe or waterproof safe - Digital safe offers secure storage for laptops, cash, and small valuables; California DOJ certified gun safe - Basic security safe for home as a theft deterrent; digital combination safe features two live-locking bolts, steel construction, concealed hinges, carpeted floor, and bolt down hardware - Exterior: 16.9 in. W x 14.6 in. D x 7.1 in. H; Interior: 16.8 in. W x 11.6 in. D x 6.9 in. H; medium-wide 0.78 cubic foot capacity; weighs 17 pounds - For optimal performance, SentrySafe recommends the use of four high-quality, name branded, alkaline AA batteries with an expiration date of 8-10 years from the current year. Generic and rechargeable batteries often do not have the lifespan needed to support long term usage ## Technical Specifications | Specification | Value | |---------------|-------| | ASIN | B000Z8R73U | | Additional Features | DOJ-Certified, Numeric Keypad | | Alarm | lock | | Best Sellers Rank | #15,070 in Office Products ( See Top 100 in Office Products ) #33 in Security Lock Boxes | | Brand | SentrySafe | | Brand Name | SentrySafe | | Capacity | 0.78 cubic feet | | Chamber Depth | 11.6 inches | | Chamber Height | 6.9 inches | | Chamber Width | 16.8 inches | | Color | Black | | Control Type | Touchpad Control | | Customer Reviews | 4.4 out of 5 stars 5,045 Reviews | | Global Trade Identification Number | 00049074009601, 00049074009656, 00049074022495 | | Included Components | Key, owner's manual, safe | | Item Dimensions D x W x H | 13.8"D x 16.9"W x 7.1"H | | Item Type Name | Digital Safe | | Item Weight | 17.2 pounds | | Lock Type | Combination , Cylinder type, Key | | Manufacturer | SentrySafe | | Manufacturer Part Number | X075 | | Manufacturer Warranty Description | Limited One Year Warranty | | Material | Alloy Steel | | Material Type | Alloy Steel | | Model Number | X075 | | Mounting Type | Floor Mount | | Number of Items | 1 | | Product Dimensions | 13.8"D x 16.9"W x 7.1"H | | UPC | 843024235412 049074009656 049074009601 799916226320 049074018061 054645161923 320493205011 809099253539 641438474010 659223175684 490740096010 049074021290 800188023385 799916332854 049074022495 | | Unit Count | 1 Count | | Water Resistance Level | Water Resistant | ## Product Details - **Brand:** SentrySafe - **Capacity:** 0.78 cubic feet - **Color:** Black - **Included Components:** Key, owner's manual, safe - **Item Weight:** 17.15 Pounds - **Lock Type:** Combination, Cylinder type, Key - **Material:** Alloy Steel - **Mounting Type:** Floor Mount - **Product Dimensions:** 13.8"D x 16.9"W x 7.1"H - **Special Feature:** DOJ-Certified, Numeric Keypad ## Images ![SentrySafe Shelf Safe with Digital Keypad Lock, Steel Safe with Interior Lining and Bolt Down Kit for Money, Jewelry, 0.78 Cubic Feet, 7.1 x 16.9 x 13.8 Inches, X075 - Image 1](https://m.media-amazon.com/images/I/81LiA7yldkS.jpg) ## Available Options This product comes in different **Size** options. ## Questions & Answers **Q: About how much money can I hold in one of these? I'm looking to raise up for a new truck.** A: I can carry 50k In a lunchbag so i figure 3 or 4 hundred k oughr to be a piece of cake. Buy a few trucks and no fussy 10k deposit questions asked limit **Q: Is it fire proof?** A: No it is not fire proof but I love it for basic security. I have two of them in my home, both with firearms in them and I have a separate fireproof safe which is larger for important paperwork and misc. **Q: I just got this two weeks ago and the battery died and the key was accidentally left inside it. How do I get it to re-open? All my jewelry is inside** A: Great place to leave the key, your ONLY option to open it. You must’ve had cheap/zold batteries, I’ve had the same batteries for over 2 years. One word- DURACELL- That’s like keeping your spare house keys inside the house. They sell lock pick sets for cheap on the GEEK app and they work great... if you know how to pick a lock. And next time hide the key elsewhere, like in a locked jewelry box, just don’t lock it’s key inside. **Q: After entering combination correctly, what is the final button to push to open the safe** A: Hi,Press the button inside the safe (inside battery compartment). Yellow light will go on. Enter new code followed by the (#) sign. Yellow light will go off, Having said that consider the following:Please do not store anything of extreme value in this safe, we had a break in and the burglar was able open the safe in seconds with a crow bar. Just a note of caution. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ For its intended purpose it is a good safe.
