Easy instructions for beginners, reliable!
I've installed this bypass into both Bulldog and Python/Viper branded systems with ease. I've had one in my own car for going on 3 years now without an issue. The instructions are similar in format to Bulldog's remote start systems which are intended to be as basically explained as possible for DIY folks. Make/Model specific wiring diagrams are widely available and free! Depending on the type of security your vehicle uses, you'll need to use 4-5 of this units wires. Most of my experience with this unit has been with GM's Passlock II but I have also done a few transponder style installs. Don't let the terminology intimidate you, as the instructions are step-by-step. If you have basic automotive electrical skills this will be the easiest part of your remote start install! Lastly, as a reminder. Anyone with a transponder style security system MUST have a spare key that will be left inside this bypass module. This often means heading to your local dealer to have an additional key/transponder made up. You can determine if this applies to you or not on bulldog's website. Good Luck!

It Works
I bought this to go with my Bulldog security 500 model remote starter. While I did have the plastic clip breakage opening the unit it was easily fixed. Unless you have a vehicle that requires the use of the transponder loop you shouldn't even need to open this anyway. Programming the passlock 2 key code into it was easier than I had dreamed and the car started right up. The biggest problem I had with the unit was splicing the passlock wires on the cylinder. If you're new to electronics I recomend having a remote starter professionally installed. If you know what you're doing (do a lot of self auto repair / you're a mechanic) then go for it!

Works great
I liked the way it works just fine.Wasn't to bad to hook up and would have give a five star rating but had to put one of my keys inside of it. I know that has to do with the security of my car but seems like they could do something different. Overall I like the product.

The Newer the Vehicle, more Complex.
I have installed about 10 Different Remote Starters over last 20 Yrs. This Remote installed in Grandsons 1999 Buick Century. Downloaded Wire Location From Bulldog Remote Starters Site. Hooked up Hood Sw., Door locks, Trunk Release. By Passed VATS System with a 520 Ohm Resistor. Took Two Days ,on and off Working on it. Works Great !

Its design and manufacturing is really bad the worst I had seen in a long time
Do not buy anything from Bulldog all of their things are complete rubbish and the is little to no customer support even trying to return something is impossible and they simply will not return it if the package is open. in the end this product was cheaply made and it didn't work. Its design and manufacturing is really bad the worst I had seen in a long time, I was going to be really surprised if it worked and guess what I didn't. I called several Remote start installation companies and they said that they don't deal in bulldog cause they often don't work and even when they do they have a tendency to burn up. Its just a swindler company that is after your money little has they might be taking you shouldn't be supporting them.

Great installion instructions but..
The instructions to install this are pretty simple but there are some things they left out and didn't explain we would need to buy in addition to this to install it. Our car has automatic locks so we had to buy two relays to put in each door (they wanted to charge $10 a piece plus $16 in shipping but we found them on ebay for $16 total and free shipping). We also had to buy the door clips since we had to open the door panels to install the relays. We had to buy an extra key to put in the module so that my wife could still have a key. I've had to buy extra wire since what they provide is not enough. Overall better than the Bulldog brand but we had to put double the price of this item in and would have gone with a different model if we had known all this before!

No major issues
Not too difficult to install. You will need an extra copy of the factory ignition key that will stay inside this device at all times. Follow the directions carefully. There are 2 or 3 possibilities on how one specific area needs to be wired. Don't get frustrated if the the first way you try it doesn't work. Mine worked with the 2nd arrangement.

good reliable product will all items necessary to connect.
Good product with all the items required to connect to a remote start. I used it in conjunction with a remote start system 5303L Avital.
