Better than glue
Always have some of this on hand. The adhesive strength it unmatched. Clean the surfaces with alcohol and let set for a few hours.

Excellent
I used this to secure a large acrylic (plastic) mirror to a piece of plywood. It worked perfectly. I went to their website and emailed 3M first to ask which of their VHB tapes I should use for these materials. They emailed back within 24 hours--very helpful. There are different types of VHB tapes for different materials. The tape is not very sticky right off the roll. The adhesion is a process. It's adhesion strengthens over 3 days once it's on the material you are adhering. As other reviewers have said, you need to give the bond 72 hours to sit unused for it to properly adhere. According to the 3M website, the adhesive on this tape actually " flows into the microscopic irregularities of the surface to form very strong bonds. " This is a small roll of tape, 5 yards doesn't go all that far. Excellent product.

Amazon must have a bad bunch...
I have used this tape in the past and it has worked really well. I just ordered a new roll from Amazon and it is absolutely useless. It will literally not hold anything. It has virtually no stickiness to it and will not firmly attach to any surface - metal, glass, porcelain, etc. I would like to return it, but they take off for shipping and make me pay for the return shipping. Definitely the worst product that I have ever received from Amazon.

Got to wait 72 hrs
I don't know why some people are having problems with this tape. Modern Marvals did a skit on this tape, those guys know thier stuff. This VHB tape is super sticky after the cure time. I must admit, I was scepticle at first because the tape is not very sticky at first. I bought it to attach a battery powered LED light to my bathroom ceiling above the bath tub. The ceiling is tile that normal double sided tape would not stick to. After a few days I decided the light needed to be moved over a few inches. The light housing broke when I tryed to move it, which was made of fairly thick plastic. The tape would not let go of the broken piece which was still stuck to the tile. I had to put some wieght into it to get it off the ceiling. I Reinstalled another light with no failure. I have since used this tape for mounting other things without fail. Tip: I found you must prepare the surfaces that are being attached by using some rubbing alcohol, and let dry. Wipe clean any residue left behind and apply the tape, you have 3 days to remove the tape before it is stuck for good.

Worked great in my kegerator
I build a 5 keg kegerator for home brew and needed to find a way to the the gas manifold in place. I could have drilled holes, but I really wanted to avoid the risk of puncturing a line and making the kegerator worthless. I bought a roll of this and cut down a length of 2x4. I covered one side of the 2x4 with this an attached to the top of the inside of the fridge side and screwed the manifold on to the 2x4. Worked like a champ until I accidentally pulled it loose. I could not reattached it (hence the loss of a star) so I had to toss what I had already used and reapply. When I tore it off the 2x4 it did bring some of the wood with it so it had definitely stuck well to that side. 2 months later it's hanging just fine with the weight of the manifold and the gas lines being tugged around in a 36-38 degree environment.

Poor person's cybernetic duct tape
Read the specs on the 3M website. This stuff is insane. It holds metal cladding onto the exterior of skyscrapers. It held our metal Maclocks Blade to the metal bottom of our $1,400 "thinnest Macbook Pro ever" until the Tim Cook approved butterfly keyboard exploded to class action lawsuits. Given that world economists predict artificial intelligence will take over 30 to 50 percent of all jobs, and the Silicon Valley techno-authoritarians are planning to milk the global depression overheating biodiversity collapse apocalypse they created with middle class consumers' help by rocketing to Mars in cyborg bodies that can survive 260 years until they can upload their brains to the AI quantum god computer and leave 99.99 percent of dying humanity in the arid dust, now more than ever is the time to stock your bugout kit with this tape so you can stick broken metal cyborg parts onto your head and watch it all go down

Great for Automotive Use
Not sure why there's so many negative reviews on this. I used this stuff to attach a spoiler to my trunk lid and it held no problem for 3 years. Survived many car washes, rain, snow, hot summers, and high speeds. I just recently removed the spoiler because I'm replacing with another. If you need to remove/detatch whatever is being held together with this tape, I recommend using some heat (heat gun or hair dryer worked fine for me) and I used some fishing line to pull between the spoiler and trunk. Came apart relatively easily, but there's no way it was coming off unintentionally. Will be buying more of this for the new spoiler I'm putting on and would definitely recommend for automotive applications. Just make sure you prep properly and apply on flat surfaces.

Works fine except for inside a vehicle that gets hot while parked
I originally ordered this tape to attach a light weight radio head to the dash of my vehicle. I have had problems in the past with the interior of the truck getting very hot, causing the tape to not hold the control head. This was advertised as being high- temperature but it likewise failed on the first hot day. I did all the proper surface prep and kept the control head supported in place for three days to ensure the tape "cured". Like all the other "high temperature" tapes, I returned to find the control head no longer mounted and lying on the console. It could work fine as long as it isn't exposed to high temperatures of a parked vehicle.
