The ssa3000x manual shows features that seem to be part of the advanced measurement opt. how do i know what features are included in the basic sa?

Everything except those options are standard and included with the SS3021X-TG. The manual will talk about the options when discussing the use of certain functions and notifies the user that these options are necessary for a given task. That's just my opinion. The tracking generator is of course standard, but SWR measurement, and freq. range increase,etc you must buy. hope this helps?

is the tracking generator a trial period or permamently loaded.

When I ordered mine about two months ago, Siglent was offering the TG bundled with the SSA-3201x, and when I received my unit, all the extra functions were activated for a trial period, but the permanent license for the TG was included....a long-winded way of saying it was permanently loaded

Can this b used to detect harmful radiation such as microwaves/Havana syndrome?

A spectrum analyzer can detect and characterize RF emissions within its bandwidth (9 KHz to 2.1 GHz in this case) and requires a fair amout of expertise and supporting gear to use successfully. Regarding detecting "Havana Syndrome" conditions - don't count on it.
