My childhood dreams come true
NVG - Night Vision Goggles This model of NVG is amazingly cheap for what it's capable of. It is one of the only head mounted NVG's that have a 1x zoom, making them usable on foot while traversing an area. They also have a zoom function, but I personally find it nauseating because I suffer from motion sickness. (The NVG in general use does not trigger my motion sickness, don't be put off if you suffer from motion sickness too) The battery life on this NVG is exceedingly long, It's never ran out for me while using it, and I charge it once every week, with fairly frequent use. This is a very cool device to show your friends, and by far the best choice for this price. It has 7 IR levels, the seventh being the most visible. Also has brightness settings, which for some reason can be combined with IR 2 on max brightness to make it look like it's on IR 7. Battery saving tip, I suppose. Now, for the downsides. The only downsides that I have found after a couple months of use is the screen fogging up, and worst of all, the part you put your eyes on is extremely uncomfortable. It's a quick fix though, all you need to do is get a knife and shape it to your face shape. Without doing that, it'll dig into your forehead and cause great discomfort, well it did for me at least. In conclusion, I am extremely happy with this NVG and I would happily buy it again.

Good gear for the price.
This is a good piece of kit for the asking price. The original field of view is somewhat limited so I have adapted the unit with a fish eye lens which produces a far wider field of view. The IR on this unit gives a fairly noticeable red glow, however this can be reduced by using an external source instead. Battery life is reduced because of the LCD screen, but is still good and usable. Overall, a nice unit on a budget.

After sales service
Nightfox are a great example why wherever possible you should buy British. Small problem all sorted out with an email. Not the case with some suppliers. Highly recommend this company not just for their after sales service but a nice piece of kit for the money. Kevin

Not good for someone who wears glasses.
For me personally the product was ok for the price but I wear glasses and I could not get a good focus on the focus wheel for me to see through the goggles. I expect the goggles are good for someone who does not wear glasses or someone wears contact lenses.

I purchased this product based on the excellent reviews, and it does not disappoint. The unit is lightweight, has a USB rechargeable battery, and is very easy to use. Highly recommend the Nightfox company too, had need to contact them and their customer service was excellent. Overall experience 10/10.

Keep in mind I am reviewing this a day after receiving it in the mail. I took a chance on the night fox swift due to it's great price and the singular review on YouTube that seemed slightly like an ad. Here is what I think. This unit is dependent on an ir source (one is provided inside it), by that I mean I don't believe these can be low signature night vision using ambient light only. The picture quality within it's range was great considering the cost. Speaking of it's effective range I was able to see clearly within 70 paces (as advertised), I feel this could be extended with an additional ir source. The controls were easy to manipulate and the headband worked much better than I expected and the unit is extremely light. After some getting used to I was able to walk through fields checking cattle, play ball with my dog and even jog a few yards (bouncy and a bit laggy on the jog). The only cons that I noticed were as follows: 1. small screen with odd zoom and narrow field of vision means you will have to re-learn moving and will not have any depth perception and may have problems seeing it if you are far sighted 2. everything outside of ir range is not visible meaning if you are using it to check live stock you will probably need a strong ir source to reach in the field. In conclusion I feel like the nightfox swift is well worth the money and I am looking forward to using their product more.

Let’s start off by getting this over with first. These ARE night vision goggles and no they are NOT high end. Okay, with that over with let’s break this down. Some people don’t realize that there are many different types of NVG’s out there. Unlike the classic image intensifier style these are digital night vision. The difference? Vacuum tubes are swapped for a low Lux camera. This makes it cheaper and easier to produce. Please understand that if you want the “classic” goggles expect to pay in the thousands vs the $200 I snagged these for. A few things on function, these are great for the price point. Only thing I wish was improved on would be a wider angle for the lenses. View is very limited with these and makes it slightly difficult to move in close quarters. Nevertheless these are still very comfortable to wear and work very well. No you are not going to see great detail at extreme distance but are still a great device. Also note that with this price point the two IR lights are slightly in the visible spectrum. So in operation you will see two glowing red eyes piercing the dark abyss. This may be a deal breaker for some, but I’m okay with striking fear into the hearts of my enemies as a shadowy demon emerges from the dark. In all I am extremely happy with this buy, and despite some minor flaws these will be a great addition to my airsoft gear, and great for general entertainment on a long work night.

Good value for money, only problem is fov is very narrow and you feel like your going cross-eyed when putting them on. And there is a very slight digital delay, which isn't very noticeable but if you get motion sickness easy it won't be pleasant. Great clear night vision .

First impressions It's a pretty cool NVG, I only played around with it for a few hours so here's what I can tell you Pro: - It works pretty nice, you can see in the dark with IR lights. It has its own IR light source to see in the dark, it has a Zero IR mode so it can receive IR light and not expose your position as there are noticeable "Red eyes" in the darkness(I also purchased the IR flashlight from Night fox for testing and it's pretty good with discreet light source). - it has a color mode to see in regular light, and unlike some NVG you can safely use it in daylight without overexposing your lens and rendering your NVG useless. - Backlight for the screen can be turned low or high for visibility. - It's relatively small which is good. - Relatively lightweight, it's not too heavy in the hands or on the head but you can feel it after a while. - (airsoft) Rechargeable battery, much better in my opinion AND you can plug a cable in AFTER you turn it on to keep it working while charging(unlike another review I saw where they said you can't do it because they plugged it in BEFORE turning on). - (airsoft) It can be mounted on GoPro mounts to wear on your helmet for night time games. - 1x view, which is nice so that you don't lose more of your peripheral vision when walking around. Con: - No mounts for GoPro, you have to find your own parts to mount it on a helmet, not a deal breaker. - Nose ridge is bad, it doesn't fit naturally on my face, Nightfox should consider maybe a few rubber options. But not a big deal breaker unless you're wearing it up against your face. - The 7 levels of IR light setting start becoming monotonous after 3-4 and there's no noticable difference beyond those levels. - Peripheral vision like most NVG is not too great, you have a small window to see in the dark. - (airsoft) If installed on helmet, you still would want counterweights because the gopro mounts will put more weight in the front. - The resolution is not great, but not terrible to use. A little disappointed considering the smartphone technology we have now with the screen resolution. Could definitely be improved. - You will get motion blur due to it being digital, unavoidable. - focus dial is loose, it feels like this part has the least quality control. - (airsoft) It doesn't have the recording feature of their Cape NVG which is disappointing. - Mine has some scratches on the IR lights lens but doesn't affect IR lights. - Digital zoom makes no sense, it doesn't enhance the image it just makes it bigger which doesn't help and it makes it more difficult to navigate as your tunnel vision. - (airsoft) I'm concerned about the camera lens getting busted by a BB. Overall, it's a pretty sweet NVG on a budget, I am having fun with it. I will need to take it out to a game to test its actual effectiveness, but I hope my first impressions are a good reference point with this product.
