Yes it can be removed. The screws that hold it in place just need to be unscrewed.

does this come with dual monitor stand?

No, you have to buy that separately. But I have 2, 22 inch widescreen monitors and they fit fine with out the stand

How hard woukd it be to put together by myself? Does it come in a lot of parts?
