I made my first ever scratch vanilla cake with white ermine frosting for my sister’s birthday. I wanted it to be extra special and these cake combs did the trick. I applied a lot of frosting because I was afraid the cake comb would dig up crumbs. It worked really well and they are tall enough that my 2 layer cake could be easily combed from top to bottom in one pass (a lazy susan turntable really helps). They are very sturdy and have a good weight to them. They do not flex, which is great because you want the sides to be uniform. Each comb has two different edges, giving you a lot of options. I used the flat edge to first smooth the frosting and remove any air bubbles. Then I used another comb to groove the sides. I washed it by hand and I’m storing them in a gallon bag so they are clean and ready to go. This was such an easy process and the cake looked great!

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Bought for my daughter’s graduation cake. They are good quality but unfortunately couldn’t use them - the cake and frosting didn’t work out as I planned.

Yeees this worked exactly the way I needed it to. I used it to make a textured painting on a large canvas and this worked!

Love the variety of patterns you get and the price point cant be beat. Plastic is sturdy and durable

One came a little messed up and bent, but the rest look fine they are made of a hard plastic and should work fine for cake frosting

Have you ever been to the grocery store or Whole Foods and I’ve seen cakes that have sides with texture and that wow that looks so cool… i could never do that myself… Well, you sure can if you have this tool set! it’s pretty easy Basically you put your cake on a Lazy Susan and you take one of these tools to the side and you just slowly twirl it and it puts indentations into the side of the cake’s icing. Full disclosure I completely failed the first attempt but then I just took my frosting paddle and re-ice the side and tried it again and I figured it out. You just need to go little slow. It was pretty easy once I figured it out.

I bought them for decorating my daughter's birthday cakes. They work very well and are sturdy. Well worth the money.

Fun to use

I got 4 but 2 are the same. They are good quality, but disappointed because I did not get the other pattern. Seems this happened to other clients.

They are a bit thick and feel bulky at first, especially if you are a beginner but they work amazing when you get the hang of them. Remember to have a lot of icing on the cake and hold the scraper at an angle and to barely press the scraper against the cake. You're looking for a smooth impression. Happy cake decorating!

They are easy to use and to handle, they are strongly made and enough large to ice a 6” tall cake.
