Zenith Digital Kitchen Scale by Ozeri, in Refined Stainless Steel with Fingerprint Resistant Coating

In my kitchen I had been using an ancient basket type of scale for years which had become more burdensome with my declining vision, mental function and dexterity. I needed something more practical that would do the calculations easily for me. The Ozeri Zenith Professional Scale in Ulta Refined Stainless Steel met all my demands. I actually bought two of these scales at the same time as I wanted to compare accuracy of the two. They both performed perfectly and had the same value for all weights tried. The blue LCD was very easy to read and the Tare function worked simply and easily. I like to make fresh bread at home with my Zojirushi Breadmaker, but it is necessary to make measurements accurately if you want to forget about the bread until it is ready to take out of the machine. I had refined my favorite bread recipes with a weight for each added ingredient. Now I place the empty bread pan with blades attached on my Ozeri Scale, then I activate the Tare function and subsequently add ingredient by ingredient by weight until all ingredients added. I can then walk away from the Bread Machine knowing that all will go well. The Ozeri Scale has a small footprint in the kitchen and is light and easy to move around or store. It is well engineered in design and is easy to clean away any spills. I will likely give my spare away to a friend now that I am convinced that it is the product I desired.

I purchased the kitchen scale as a gift for a friend who is upgrading his kitchen. He absolutely loves it - it's very easy to read, very accurate, and is a beautiful piece. The scale is very thin and sleek, with a beautiful stainless steel finish and clean lines. While very thin, it is also very sturdy, and has a larger surface area than most kitchen scales, so it makes weighing anything very simple. You will really like this product. I'll be buying one for myself to replace my older and clunky scale very soon.

I purchased this scale to replace one I have had for a few years. The old one still works but has no backlight and times out too quickly. This scale solved both those problems, it has a very bright and easy to read display and a longer time out (2 minutes vs 1 minute). The only negative aspect is that is has less usable area that is should for its footprint. For some reason it angles down for about an inch at the front and the back. I noticed the slope in the pictures and thought maybe at the front it was to angle the display for easier viewing but the display is pretty horizontal so I guess it is just a silly aesthetic choice. Other than that minor gripe it is a good scale and is very slim and easy to store in a drawer

I needed a new scale and really wanted one that looked nice and was accurate. I was really excited for this scale as I am eating low carb and am learning portion control. I am doing a weight loss program at work and my scale was not accurate, this scale is spot on. The Ozeri scale hit every mark that I was looking for. I love the fact that I can just tuck it away right on my counter or keep in a kitchen drawer. It takes up hardly any space at all. It has functions for ounces and lbs. I can choose how I'd like to see the weight displayed. You can easily turn it on, tare to zero out the weight of your container. It is very accurate and has a nice stainless steel sleek design. It is very easy to use the display is clear and is easy to read. The whole process of weighing food is very straight forward and I really enjoy the simplicity of this scale. It came in a very nice package and would be a nice present to give if you are are in the market for a kitchen gadget. Pros: The scale itself weighs accurately and consistently, and it is light enough to move with ease. It is affordable and sleek enough to keep on my counter. Cons: None that I can see or experience. I do wish it operated on 2 triple A batteries so that it would be more economical to replace them. But getting the batteries replaced with the one ones that come with this scale is no burden either.

My review should be read in two parts: The first month, then the second month. First month: Great, fabulous, wonderful scale. Easy to use and accurate. The size of the platform is just right for my needs, weighing foods during meal preparation. Only drawback? It times out/shuts off too quickly---if you need to walk across the room to get another ingredient, the scale will be turned off when you return. Second month: Measurements began fluctuating---sometimes, slightly, but as of this morning, wildly. I poured 35g of Cheerios into a bowl (the bowl was tared out prior to pouring, so only the cereal was being weighed). As I began to close the cereal box, the scale suddenly began increasing the weight, even though nothing was touching it. Frustrated, I emptied the bowl and started over. Read fine...then dropped in weight, then increased in weight, to 40+ grams (???). As I began removing cereal from the bowl, the weight continued to increase, at one point going as high as 140g (which would never fit in the bowl). Switched to an empty bowl, then watched the scale weight bounce up and down and up and down for a minute or so, never correctly locking into a single number. In reading other reviews, one person mentioned something about the scale needing to be stored flat---not on its side. My guess? That's the problem, since this was carefully (so as not to accidentally turn it on each time) slipped sideways on my counter, next to cutting boards stored the same way. When it worked, it was great. When it stopped---suddenly, and without warning---it turned into an oversized paperweight. Crud. * * * UPDATE * * * It turns out the culprit is one of the small "button feet" beneath the scale. It repeatedly shifts sideways, wedging itself inside the bottom housing, which makes the scale unusable (thus the up down up down up down weight fluctuations, often with no human interaction involved). I doubt this is user-caused, since, when storing sideways, I made sure the feet faced outward, not touching anything.

I am so glad I purchased this product!! It's very easy to use, not complicated at all. I do alot of baking and since so many recipes I find nowadays has metric measurements this is a game changer. Has all you will need for measuring, pounds, grams, milliliters, etc: I also use this to portion out hamburgers for my son. I buy ground chuck in bulk and make 1/4 & 1/3 lb. hamburger patties, par freeze them them vacuum seal them 2 to a pack, so when he wants hamburgers he's all set! This scale is extremely lightweight, easy to clean and a very nice looking addition to my kitchen. It's slim so it fits into a drawer very easily when not in use. If you are looking for a scale, I highly recommend this one. I am very pleased with it.

The stainless steel Ozeri Zenith Professional Digital Kitchen Scale is truly more than I expected in a product. It has a beautiful finish, a sleek line and large, readable windows. It provides instant read-out and return to "0" ready for the next measurement. Because it is so compact, I can easily slide it under my microwave available at my fingertips for the next time. It wipes up beautifully and does not show fingerprints or streaks. I was able to easily bag and weigh produce set for the freezer and to weigh out my daily portions. I double checked the measurements on another scale for the first day and found this new scale to be accurate in its measurements. Another one of the things that also impressed me was the thank you letter from the Ozeri Company. I was surprised to read such an appreciative letter. They offered their product help in any way in order to be of quality service. I appreciated that. Thank you, Ozeri.

I really wanted to like this product - I mean look at it, sleek, elegant, and 5KG capacity with 1gm resolution. Unfortunately, unless you are weighing one item at a time, this scale is not usable. First, and this is more of an annoyance than a problem; Since the strain gages are between the platform and counter surface, using the tare function is tricky, as pressing the button affects the weight measurement. Takes several attempts to zero out the scale. Second, while the display does increment by 1gm increments, the resolution is +/-2gm, the salt measured for 17gm could be 15-19gm, not great for the bread recipe. The main problem, and this was the deal breaker for me, is the display time out. Placed bowl on scale, weighed flour, start to add water, and the display shuts off! I mean in the middle of measuring (not idle time), had to throw it all out. I sent it back, and ordered the My Weigh 7001DX. Update (now that I had some time with the new scale): the 7001DX is everything a scale should be. 7000g capacity with 1g resolution (with four modes lb/kg) programmable timer for both back light and shut off (including fully manual) as well as a beep Tare and Hold buttons Pushing the buttons does not affect the the measurement The display angle is adjustable for best viewing Included a bowl, a letter holder and tube holder for postage measurements 30 YEAR (LIFETIME) warranty and while not a snazzy looking as the Zenith, it is attractive, contemporary, and unobtrusive in the kitchen.

Ok, en realidad no la he probado aún, pero siendo mi segunda báscula de la marca Ozeri anticipo buen funcionamiento. Baso mi opinión en tres aspectos principales: Construcción, diseño y calidad-precio. Es una báscula delgada pero sólida, no se sienten frágiles los materiales. El diseño está bien logrado, muy buenos detalles. El precio muy accesible (menos de $350 al momento de la compra). ¡Excelente!

This scale is very accurate, even at light loads, and it has a beautiful finish. The tare function is easy to use and allows you to weigh the contents of a container, e.g. the flour in a bowl. The smooth surface makes it easy to clean with a damp cloth. Overall, this is a classy looking and very functional kitchen scale. The build quality appears to be good as well - time will tell.

This scale looks good and the LCD is bright- but it just burns through batteries..
