I purchased the Home Collection Over Size Elegant Embossed Bedspread Set in white for my daughter’s twin XL bed in her college dorm room in South Florida. I was drawn to the elegant design and soft texture of the fabric, which looks even better in person. The bedspread is thin and lightweight, which is ideal for the warmer climate down south. However, I was surprised by just how thin it actually is. When held up to the light, you can see right through it. It feels more like a large throw blanket or a coverlet rather than a traditional bedspread, and the texture is soft yet a bit stiff, almost like a fabric diningroom placemat. This wasn’t necessarily a bad thing given the heat, but my daughter did mention that she got cold with the air-conditioning running at night. If you’re living in a cooler climate this might not provide the warmth you’re looking for. Or if youre in the north/midwest in a dorm without air-conditioning, this would be good for the warmer months. It’s a beautiful, lightweight option that adds a nice touch to the room, but if you’re expecting something heavier and more substantial, this might not be it. Overall, this bedspread is stylish and practical for warm climates, but just be aware that it’s not very thick. For those in cooler areas, you might need to layer it with another blanket. *4 stars.*

Smells awful like damp mildew. Like it was stored in a damp moist closet It is soft, but thin. It is not quilted with thread but it has a wierd shiny design imprinted. I used fabric refresher to get the smell out. It is decent for the price, though it is very purple. The ad made it look more like plum purple.

Beautiful product. My pillows fit perfectly in the shams and the set looks beautiful when all put together. It’s not that heavy. It has a solid thickness to it. You definitely could not use it, I feel at least, during the summer months. I usually fold it over on my bed, and it’s easy breezy to make the bed the next morning. The purple set looks wonderful in my room as I have colors that go with the set throughout my bedroom and I personally feel it looks wonderful. Great value for your money and looks great overall.
