I had first ordered a similar plastic-ey model from Sabrent..but it's just felt TOO cheap. This atolla Aluminum 5-Port USB 3.0 Hub feels well made...ports work fine with fast speeds...charging port works but is rather slow. I like you can shut individual ports off as needed and the corresponding blue lights that tell you which ones are on. My only SLIGHT negative is in winter I find I am getting more of those static electricity shocks than when I touch it vs my other metal components. I am not talking about a REAL shock....it's the dry winter air..walking on carpet kinda shock, touch a metal door handle kind of shock,it just seems a bit more with this unit, than when I touch anything else. The unit works great esp vs it's price-point.,.
