This product is incredible! I experimented with different ways to apply it and what worked best for me (long slightly wavy fine color treated hair but a lot of it) I mix hair balm and dressed up together and apply to damp hair, twist it up clip it till it’s dry then use a curling wand to shape my hair. Dressed up has heat protection and sometimes I’ll add a little more with moist hands especially if I’ve slept on it. This combo holds for days. Before bed I’ll wet my hand one small pump and scrunch up so the ends get much needed moisture. Same thing in the morning and my hair looks like I completely restyled almost like it has a memory. There is no build up- some days I need more others it’s less like in dry cooler days. I live in Florida and finding hair solution’s is especially challenging! Love every product- but this with dressed up add shine, define wave and your hair looks better and better till wash day. Play with it!

I've used hairbalm for maybe 2 years now and it's expensive but I love it. One bottle lasts me a while and I have a LOT of hair and definitely use more than the bottle recommends. It helps give my waves some definition, my hair feels softer, and it smells great (to me). I comb it through my hair with my fingers when my hair is damp but not wet and then let it air dry. It provides a bit of hold at first but once my hair gets pretty dry, I can loosen it all up and my hair looks great. Definitely recommend!

They say this and only this can define your curls. Having been a member of the Curly Girl Method collective for going on 20 years, I decided to put all my products down and test it out. Washed with New Wash original, put in a pea sized amount of balm to wet but not soaking hair. I brushed it out with my denman brush, scrunched and diffused. Came out beautiful in the immediate aftermath. My hair feels weightless and finally has the movement and VOLUME Ive spend $$$ trying to achieve. I put in in my silk bonnet and slept on it, it looks pretty much the same the next day at work. I spritzed a little water on it and shook it out but that's it! Will definitely a bit more product and maybe little gel since I like to go several days between washes and I need more hold, but yeah i'd say this worked pretty well.

This is very effective at keeping waves intact and smells amazing!

New version of product is different than original! Original was lighter and more creamy. New version is thicker and more of a paste. It doesn’t seem to work as well or spread as well because of this.
