After I managed to get it on, it felt like the shoe was on the wrong foot - the same sensation you get when you accidentally put a left shoe on your right foot. At any rate, I've got 5 other pairs of Frye boots and I got the same size in these as I have in the others...but, like I said, the narrowness is very weird. They also seemed way too stiff and just awkward looking. I love the Frye Billy Short boots and own several pairs in size 8.5 which is my regular size. The 8.5 in this particular style were really WIDE on me - they fit like a men's boot - and they gape badly at the top. I tried an 8 but it was uncomfortably tight. Since these are bench crafted in Mexico, I thought would try another 8.5 in case my 8.5 was just a defective pair. The replacement pair I received was a return (the other customer's return invoice was still in the box) and seemed even looser than the first pair. So everything is going back and hopefully Amazon will take out my return invoice before sending them out to another customer :| ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Love Frye Billy Short *by F***O on Reviewed in the United States on July 21, 2016* I love the Frye Billy Short boots. However, I returned the black pebbled full grain leather. They were just too black. I wanted the 77815 which is the number posted for these boots but that's not what I received. I wear a size 6 in other boots but I wear a 6.5 in these. They run 1/2 size too small if you have medium width or wider feet. If you have a high instep these might be next to impossible to get on. I put plastic bags on my feet & take them on & off several times until the leather stretches & softens around the boot opening. Then I wear thin slippery socks.
