desertcart.com: The 5th Wave (Book 1 & 2): 9781101999981: Yancey, Rick: Books Review: omg perfect😄 - OK so I don't even know we're to start.....hmm....let's just say this book was PERFECT. It kept you at suspense and it changed from point of views so we got a sneak into both main characters view, which is an awesome change instead if reading in the same point of view over and over again. I loved how there in parts. Sometimes can get a bit confusing but other than that it's perfect, I can't wait to see the movie. Keep up the great work author, love your story's! 😀 Review: Awesome sauce!!!! - I was interested in this trilogy but super worried about buying these books because many of these reviews stated that this book was written poorly. Some said that it sounded like it was written by a 16 year old. Some were weirded out by the fact that Evan Walker cared for Cassie. Sooooo, I decided to make up my own mind. I thought, why not? Here is my opinion: First of all, the main characters' POV sound like they are written by 16 year olds because it is in the POV of 16 year olds. But they were not in any way stooping so low to me where I thought it stupid. Secondly, this was written beautifully to me. It had its twists and turns and events that I never did see coming. There was a surprise around every corner. In the second book it was a little more difficult to get into because it starts off with a secondary character taking "the front seat" but stick with it. Once you get into it, you won't get out if it....... Ever. You'll start these books as a normal person and finish them as a crazed half human searching for the next book. The characters were so dynamic. When Vosch would speak in the second book you would believe everything that came out of his mouth. He would make you really think of who the real bad guy was. I do warn the parents reading this: the language in these books are pretty course. I wouldn't give these books to a 13 year old. Your call, not mine. Again my opinion. Anyways, I hope that this review helped! I'm sitting here writing this review and hoping to find a hold-me-over book until The Last Star releases.

The 5th Wave & The Infinite Sea (book 1 & 2)
I fell in love with the movie and there was not much difference reading what happens in the book compared to what happened within the movie. Although there are several quirks that the movie producers changed to keep the movie from being so long, these quirks added character to the story. Like for example, there was no other "Other" sniper that shot Cassie but our very own Evan. What?! Shut. Up! Right? So this detail, along with several other juicy tidbits, are expressly book-only but I concede I do enjoy the movie although another tidbit is that Evan and Cassie never had sex. I know, what? But in the movie, they get their spank on. I know, but Cassie retains her virginity and there have been many instances where they could have made love but don't. I think it has a lot to do with the reading audience, but either way, Evan and Cassie find love and that is something the movie emphasizes and one of the main principles of the book. I am eager for the movie production of The Infinite Sea. And you will have THAT title defined in the reading of the book.

I watched the movie the 5th wave and enjoyed it a lot and just as I read the book for twilight after watching movie I learned that the movies leave so much important details out. I'm very glad I decided to read the book series for the 5th wave as well. It explains so much and I found it a very good read. The set is very nice and well worth the money.

Great Book!!
My son is not an avid reader but when he finds a book that he likes he won't put it down. These books were just that. He couldn't put them down until he was finished. Needless to say he is 11 years old and when he chooses a book over other distractions it must be good. Great job Yancey for writing books that attract and keep those young readers.

Bought for my daughter. She bought this set because she lost the first book due to water damage. So we thought we'd get her the set this time. She loves them!

Excellent value
Great book and has been read by several family members now. I haven't seen the movie yet as I wanted to read the book and so did some of the other family members. Comes with cardboard sleeve to store the two books and I can say while these aren't my favorite books of all time they are very good and well written.
