Solid Valve!
Well built solenoid valve. Works as described. Draws about 1.5 amps when on. 1" NPT on input and output. No Leaks! Will buy again!

Very well built unit
Purchased this to replace a damaged unit on a air horn (was 10 years old). This one is very well built and heavy and SS (all great featuers). However the hole for air passage is not as large as I would have liked, and I'm not sure you can make it bigger without drilling into the "inlet" side of the valve. So for a 1/4" hose you might have a 1/32 or 1/16" hole moving air through it. Again great valve (and purchased a brass unit) that actually had a larger flow orifice, so I used that, but this is my back up (and may get used on my air suspension system where I want a better control over flow.

Reliably holds back 60psi of motor oil in a custom engine-preluber for months.
I used this on an Case skid steer's engine as a preluber. I built the preluber myself. I turned a two quart oxygen bottle upside down, put in some NPT brass fittings, attached this solenoid valve and ran 1/4" oil hose to a tee at the engine's pressure sensor on the block. I also attached a 1.5" pressure gauge on the input and on the output sides of this valve. That way I could verify I had a pre-charge before I fired-up the engine and I could verify my galley's pressure when I opened the valve. So, just before I start the engine I engage the solenoid and pre-charge the galleys to about 20 psi. Once the engine's started I re-engage the solenoid again to recharge the oxygen tank (back to 60psi). Nice, sweet, reliable. Now, realize that this solenoid valve is really a one-way check-valve. Meaning, it'll hold the pressure in the oxygen bottle for months at 60psi or more. There's no leakage. But, if the oxygen tank pressure is low while the engine is running oil will bleed through the valve and slowly recharge the oxygen tank (while the solenoid is 'off'). So, this valve can only hold pressure reliably in one direction (which the manufacturer tells you in the documentation). There's an arrow-marking on the valve body to alert you of it's 'reliable' direction.

Very well made and reliable
I used this to make an automatic water re-filler for my coffee maker. I tried a cheaper on first, but it stated leaking after a couple of weeks of use. This one seems to be much better made.

Not all stainless, mix of metals = corrosion in damp areas
Bought this to use as a remote propane shut-off in a boat in a marine/ocean air environment. The valve and solenoid cover was completely covered in rust and rust stains after only 6 months of use. It still functions but will have limited life. It is mounted in an enclosed space that is damp at times which should be ok if the valve was all stainless. It is a mix of metals, however. The valve body is Stainless Steel but the nut is chrome plated steel, the washer is steel, the nameplate is aluminum, the black metal cover that houses the coil is plain steel with a thin coating of paint, the split washer that separates the coil from the stainless valve body is plain steel. This valve should only be used in a dry, non-corrosive, environment since it is constructed from a mix of different metals that are touching one another creating multiple areas of galvanic corrosion. The valve does get very hot after about 5 minutes of 12V applied to open the valve. After 10 minutes my IR thermometer was reading around 200°F on the black coil cover with a room air temperature of 72°F. This may not be a problem for the viton seals but the plastic wire bobbin for the solenoid is likely above it's operating temperature and this would likely reach 230°F if the air temperature was close to 100°F. Might be an issue with some types of rubber hose or in a situation where the valve could be accidentally touched or come in contact with heat sensitive materials.

No mounting points on underside
Very well made product but it wasn't clear in the adds that it did not have the 5 mm mounting bolt points on the underside. I got a brass 3/8" npt Solid and it has those points for about the same price

Died the first day
I got one day use out of it. It’s never been on more than 20 minutes at the time. Still got very hot. Then it just stopped working. Very disappointed

Sehr nützlich
Wenn nur alle Camper wüssten wie praktisch so ein Ventil sein kann, funktioniert schon 2 Jahre bestens.
