Year of the Goat

I first discoverd Morbid when I learned about Mayhem. And I think Morbid will always be better than Mayhem. So when I heard that a cd was out that contained Morbids legendary demo tape "December Moon", I could barely keep myself from crying. If your a big Black Metal fan, this cd is God for you then. It has fast drums, a killer guitar, deep bass, and the best Black Metal singer Dead. Disc 1 has the December Moon demo and a rehearsal demo as well. Disc 2 has about 3 live sets that are awesome. The only downside to the live disc is that it can be repetitive with the songs. Morbid didn't write that many songs so a lot repeat in the live shows. But dodn't let that stop you from buying this masterpiece like this to have in your Black Metal collection. Now one of the best things to come in this collection is the booklet inside. It comes along with the whole history of Morbid and some rare pictures of them that are way cool. I'm glad I found this collection of Morbid, it's a really good buy and very fun to listen too. Only for the true lovers of Metal.

Very happy to find this collection. I am enjoying it. Grateful that this band was recorded while it lasted. A piece of history. Expect a wonderfully low tech necro sound. The live aspect is nice for the vibe. If only I could have been there. I hope Dead found the peace he was longing for. He gave us so much during his short stay on this earth. Check him out playing a zombie on the Candlemass video. The most DEAD of all. Yeah, he naturally nailed it. Inspiring.

The ep is essential, the extra bits not so much. Wasn't so in to some of the later concerts on disc two. The rehearsals are interesting. Either way the ep is must own so it doesn't matter what I think about all that. This band is utterly classic for four great songs, and pretty fun live.

I am very pleased with this collection. The studio demo is pretty f'ing awesome. I had never heard of Morbid before it was suggested through Amazon based on my previous purchases. I like the proto-black metal thrash sound in a lot of ways over the later black metal or death metal sound. The booklet is pretty entertaining (Dead's impression of Quothorn, and his sending of crucified rodents along with his demos). If your into Black Metal or early Thrash Black Metal, buy this

Before Dead joined Mayhem, he had a band called Morbid. This Double Disk feature includes: December Moon there 1986 demo. Rehearsal Tracks. and the 2nd disk has there live stuff. included also is a non-removable booklet between the disks with a bio of the band. I have only just recently discovered Morbid via youtube. now i can have a hard copy in hand thanks to Amazon. 5*

Great box set

This is a amazing box set, a must have,I Personally never knew dead was in morbid I just knew the band was from the 80's and was looking to hear there stuff.i sampled on youtube and I am blown away.Seeking to find there stuff at a great deal,(not on amazon and ebay)which I did. the triple lp box set is amazing and the cd box set is amazing too had to buy both.highly recommend this. sampled and bought them on Friday 8/22/14(the day I became a fan) got them 8/25/14.and can't get enough.so glad I never bought dawn of the black hearts,respect.

Quel coffret bien garni pour rendre hommage à DEAD 20 ans après son départ volontaire de ce monde! D'entrée je peux vous dire que 5 étoiles c'est même peu pour noter ce collector indispensable aux fans de death/ black suédois. Le coffret se présente sous la forme d'un livre ( grimoire!) auréolé de photos diverses du groupe ( en concert, en fiesta, et même la chambre du défunt hurleur où l'on se donne un malin plaisir à regarder les posters de ses ( nos)idoles! D'une bio bien remplie, des set list des concerts proposés sur le second disque, des dessins de DEAD, des anecdotes et influences du groupe, etc...Un pur régal visuel! La musique quant à elle est énorme. Rien à redire MORBID connaissait son sujet en jouant un death teinté de black brutal mais audible. Les mélodies, les solos, les changements de tempo, la batterie qui tape dure et le chant écorché à souhait. Tout y est pour rappeler que le metal extrême vient définitivement des 80's, et à quel point ces jeunes metalleux étaient passionnés par leur art. La partie live commence fort avec un extrait du film " l'exorciste" et on sent le public dévoué à la cause de ce groupe culte. Les titres sont plus brutaux en live, la voie nous rappelle un certain live de mayhem, et on ne se lasse pas une seconde de ce torrent de riffs acérés et maîtrisés. En bref, ce coffret est historique et démontre à quel point ce frontman reste emblématique, mystérieux et culte dans le paysage metal. MORBID, où l'histoire d'un groupe qui avec un seul album sous le coude aura vu son aura devenir indispensable à tous les amoureux de vrai metal. Tout simplement monstrueux...Ce coffret est la pièce maîtresse qui manque à votre collection. Un 20 sur 20 plus que justifié. Rip DEAD ☠

Eine der besten CD Boxen die ich je hatte! Aufgebaut ist die "Cd Hülle" ,sofern man das so nennen kann, wie ein Buch, mit den Lyrics und einigen Bildern von Dead und co! sehr gut gemacht! Die Qualität stimmt und von der Musik will ich garnicht erst anfangen! Mit der December Moon Demo hat Morbid ein deutliches Zeichen gesetzt, vom Gesang her im Stil von De Mysteriis Dom Sathanas; was natürlich mit diesem eines der besten Alben im Black Metal sind! Dead verzaubert einen mit seiner Stimme und zieht einen total in den Bann! Wahnsinn! Wirklich eine Empfehlung und ein MUSS für jeden fan des guten alten Black Metals!
