Can the overhead shower and body jets be used at the same time?

No. A three way valve selects. Overhead.body jets or hand held wand.only one at a time.

Can it be corner mounted?

It needs a flat wall to mount it. So no.

It says height is 1600mm - is this the height of just the tower or does that include the loop of the handheld hanging below bottom of the towEr

Can you please explain what the function of a thermostatic shower valve is and can I use the shower without it ?

the thermostatic valve is there so you don't burn yourself it controls the hot water if you turn the shower to cold the it will let less hot water through
