Using the handle from my push broom, I screwed one of these clips to the end, slid in a section of lights, clipped onto the side of my gutters, unscrewed the handle and the lights were all hung in twenty minutes! I was even able to use a "U" loop on the side of a clip to hang lights onto tree branches far out of my normal reach. I can't say yet if they will still be effective next year but they don't seem too flimsy and they have held tight for 2 weeks without one falling off. Also they can be used on shingles as well although I only used them around my gutters.
