Book 3 in the Heartstopper series continues with Nick and Charlie getting to know each other better and a Paris trip through the school along with friends. The young boys tackle Nick's coming out journey, Nick planning on meeting his dad and coming out to him as well. The book not only showcases the beautiful moments of their teenage life, it also deals with important themes like mental health, self harm and in particular, Charlie's eating disorder. The book has references of bullying and discussions of potential bullying regarding one's sexuality. We also see standing up for oneself and standing up for friends in time of need. Good to see progress in the story, with important topics being discussed, not just a fluffy romance book. Excited to pick up the fourth volume super soon. I just wish I had picked up these books before I watched the series because the show beautifies these books and everything is perfectly portrayed in the show. There are slight changes from the book but most of it is exactly how it happens in the book.

“Even if things are harder when people know about us, we'll be okay, because we've got each other.” Le tome 3 est à la hauteur des deux autres, si ce n'est plus. Les messages qui y sont véhiculés, l'évolution de la vie des personnages, leur construction psychologique qui continue de s'approfondir progressivement. Et pas uniquement pour Nick & Charlie, mais aussi pour Tao et Elle ou encore Tara et Darcy, m'a maintenu captivé par l'univers et m'a donné envie d'en savoir toujours plus, d'en avoir toujours plus. Je n'étais jamais rassasié, j'avais besoin de toujours plus de page sur ces personnages qui sont devenus comme une part de moi-même. L'histoire prend une tournure un peu plus intrigante, sérieuse et dure au fur et à mesure que Nick et Charlie rencontrent de nouvelles problématiques. Leur histoire s'intensifie et devient plus mature au fur et à mesure qu'ils grandissent et j'ai adoré ça. Les voir grandir et évoluer ensemble est passionnant. Le tout, sans négliger le développement de la vie et des relations des autres personnages. Quant au duo Mr.Farouk/Mr. Ajayi, je suis absolument fan de leur dynamique, ils sont si mimis.

It’s so heartwarming and such an incredibly beautiful book! The book series itself is so good and I’ve cried flood’s reading through it💗💗 It’s starting to feature kinda dark subjects now which is good and all but maybe not so much when it comes my mental happiness haha! 😅💚💛🧡 it did arrive damaged and so did the one I got after returning the first one but I’ll live with that because I really want tho books!

Lovely to see Nick’s and Charlie’s journey develop like this; their trust in each other building, their struggles being said out loud and their connection tightening. This trip to Paris was so much fun to read, and getting to see more of the other character was an added pleasure. I can’t wait to see how this part of the story gets translated into the tv show. I’m ever so thankful to Alice Oseman for putting this amazing tale out to the world. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

So many positive messages, and I love how the characters are being fleshed out and growing. I can’t wait to get my hands on Vol 4.
