After reading reviews, it seems that there are a lot of kiddos her age struggling with spelling too. According to other reviewers, this is best for a 5th grade level. Well, I bet its great for most 3rd graders, who have a good grasp on spelling in general, but I find Grade 3/Level 3 best for my 6th grade daughter. I can't make assumptions for all 3rd graders. My son is in 3rd grade and we use the Spelling for Minecrafters books (grades 3 and 4) for him. Pros: - Daily spelling practice - Uses same or similar types of words throughout the week - Introduces children to prefixes and suffixes - Traditional, familiar format - great for public school kids as well as those transitioning from public school - Good for independent work that parents can review later, if needed Cons: - Some of the instructions can be unclear to students; ensure that your student comprehends the instructions. - Traditional format - depending your method of homeschooling, this traditional (similar to public school worksheet) may not be best for your student. For example, Charlotte Mason folks tend to prefer more natural learning through play. Classical folks may prefer copywork and memorization.
