Excellent Mirror Dash Cam
This mirror dash camera is amazing. I think I've converted everyone in my family to buy one. I've ordered 3 myself and family has also ordered. Excellent video playback, clear and visible, not grainy at all. Really easy to use. Has a few different settings, for my child I put on the speed alerts, that kept them aware, especially since a lot of the roads are average speed near us. Can be hardwired for continuous recording. Had them fitted by a professional but it can easily be done by yourself. Rear camera comes in use when reverse parking and even when someone hit my car from behind, provided excellent footage which shows fault. Has a save function so even if you write over the memory card, the video and pictures you save are still there. The customer service they provide is flawless, any time I've asked any questions, I get a detailed response. Cannot fault it at all.

2 Reviews in one - G840H and G840S
There are two reviews here. G840S & G840H =============================================================== Review for G840S: Although initially I though the device is quite bulky, after installation and setup I quickly changed my mind. I had doubts that the device will 'fit' my mirror but once again I was wrong. Just after few seconds of moving it around it fit perfectly and I was stunned how securely it holds. Installation: one important thing to remember is that the camera is on one side of the device as such the device itself will slide more to one of the sides of your mirror. Initially I thought that this will bring the 'picture' too close to my face, but actually it feels very natural and comfortable. Video: I have different 4k camera in another vehicle and after few days of driving and comparing the quality it is hard distinguish the difference. Needless to say, I spent a lot of time doing my research before the purchase, so when this one landed on my lap I was surprised with this shot in the dark. Box: the box comes with a number of gadgets that you can but don't have to use. 1) Beside the camera itself and the mounts, you can use the GPS device. This is not compulsory, but if you want the GPS/speedometer info, itโs a must. The add on is very small, consequently you can conveniently install it behind the mirror. From driver's perspective you won't see it at all and it won't impact your vision. 2) The other device is the reverse camera that captures picture in the industry standard (for reverse cameras) of 1080p. Initially I thought that the 140 angle on reverse camera (170 front) is insufficient but after driving a few days, I can confirm it's perfect. After reviewing videos I have no problems reading number plates, so in the case of unfortunate accident, you can stay assured, the evidence will be there. 3) Cloth, nice bonus for cleaning the camera or device itself 4) Plastic wedge to feed and hide the cable during installation 5) Few cable holders (there are doing just fine during hot day). Also they can be used multiple times so if you decide to swap the cable (during hardwire installation) this can be done easily. Before installing one or few make sure you are confident if your choice as they hold very well. 6) Power adapter 7) Instructions Build quality: The device feels nice in hand. You get the premium feeling and after opening the box, I almost felt like it's Christmas. Pros: Material, Quality, Ease of installation Cons: this one is difficult. NONE in short, but if I was to try and find one thing I don't like, well... not for me but the reverse camera cannot be mounted directly on the window. I know there are people who would prefer do it. Consequently its a matter of preference I guess. Would be nice to have an option to chose which reverse camera option you prefer... but I'm nitpicking now. =============================================================== Review for G840H: It pleases me to be given opportunity to once again test another product of this company. A frind of mine was recently involved in a car accident and regrets not having one. Cutting to the chase just like G840S, the G840H provides you with the same quality feeling. The reverse camera feels heavy, but it must be due to its very good build quality. I have seen some plastic reverse cameras which I would not risk putting outside of the car, but this one, without a doubt in my mind can be easily installed over your number plate and configured with the DashCam to be your reverse prinking camera. The box comes with everything you need to do the initial installation. If you need the 24/7 parking mode enabled, a hardwire kit is required. This is standard across the industry. The hardwire kit is not expensive and you can get a good one for areound ยฃ25. Picture quality: The camera records in 1440P and can be configured in settings to use either H.264 or H.265 compression. On the paper, 265 is better as offers better compression and more footage on the same memory card. In my private opinion I prefer the old H.264. I found it provides marginally better quality picture and the loss in form of bigger video files is the price I'm prepared to pay. Let's be honest, the 256GB cards are not that expensive these days. Reverse camera records at 1080P which is industry standard. Front and back camera angle coverage: Front record at 170 and captures nicely everything you need, even vehicles that are practically parked next to you. Back camera provides 140 degrees angle and this is everything you will ever need. There is currently nothing with wider angle or better quality from what I can see, but you are welcome to do your research. Memory card: The box comes with 32GB memory card. This is perfect to get the DashCam up and running straight away, nevertheless I do recommend upgrading to at least 128GB, or 256GB if you plan on using parking more. Installation: This cannot be any simpler. If you don't count the time to plug it into the power source, I doubt it will take you more than 30 seconds to get in installed. It's hard to describe it, but my advise it to simply put it over the mirror and wiggle around until you feel it sits comfortably, and then secure with straps. Settings: The camera has a huge screen and it is super easy to configure from software perspective. I do prefer this over cameras that need to be connected to over iOS/Android system. It is super responsive and provides immediate feedback. Box: Comes with everything you will need to get the device up and running. I have attached picture with items available in the G840H box. Pros: Just like G840H, the product is of premium quality. Also, if you like to see clearly what is behind you and could use a bit of zoom, think no more. The dash cam screen is big enough to provide you just that, and not big to make you feel like it covers the windscreen. Further to the above the cam comes with GPS so it can also record your speed and location. This is a huge advantage in case you have an unfortunate encounter and someone refuses to accept liability. Cons: This is more of preference. Although the 1440P video is perfectly sufficient to read the numberplates and to be used as evidence, I do prefer the 4k quality cams. If this is also your preference G840S from the same seller ticks all the boxes.

Decent
Pretty decent mirror dash cam. Ive upgraded from a bog standard front one to a front and rear. Easy to install and pleanty of cable length to have round the top or bottom of car (especially the rear camera) rear camera easy to install and discreet in the back. I havent used the parking sensors as my car already has this. The functions and settings are easy to use as well as the app. I bought a higher memory sd card but it comes up with an error so unsure of why this is. Would be nice to be able to get a bigger memory sd card than the standard size you get. Only niggles really is that you cant minimise the cameras on the mirror. You can have either one cam fully or half and half of front and rear but cant minimise to small boxes (would be a nice feature) and to delete footage from the app its a pain as you have to turn WiFi on at the dash cam and connect your phone and then go into the app (only one dash cam is on as well) would be better if you can access without all thos faffing about. All in all its nice quality, 4k picture so clear and crisp. Would defo reccomend especially with added features with GPS ect. These are great to have for safety on the road.

Great product Great company
I originally bought the Wolfbox dashcam as a security device as I always knew there was a risk of theft where I live in a busy urban area. My car is parked in the street every night. This is why I purchased a mirror dashcam as it has a lower profile than some others and could be mistaken for a mirror without closer inspection. However the dashcam is much more than just for security and is an extremely effective device for giving a wide forward and rear view of the road. The quality is excellent and the screen is large enough to have a split view of front and rear although I defaulted to rear view only most of the time. The quality of the recordings is very good and clear and there are options to choose the length of each video capture. It has the facility to record sound too although I have chosen not to use this. I had some issues with glare causing reflections in bright sunlight, however, I experimented with angles and found if I angled the screen upwards slightly I solved this problem. My only real criticism is that car headlights at night cause a starburst effect on the screen which causes the picture to be less clear. This was not a deal breaker for me, just a minor gripe (potentially with a solution - I will experiment more). One of the most amazing things about Wolfbox however is their exemplary customer service. They are incredibly attentive and helpful. When I asked about a hard wire kit so that I could leave the device on overnight they sent one free of charge immediately. Any queries I had were swiftly answered politely and clearly. I cannot recommend this company enough and the product is great too.

Cheap but good
I installed this last year in my VW T6 SWB. it is adequate. - The picture quality is good. - it turns off when my stop/start activates - I have checked and despite this model saying it has 5.8GHz WiFi I am unable to connect so manually removing memory card is the only way to access files - The clock tends to not adjust to daylight savings time. - The speedo and clock are hard to see - too light / fonts not big enough. - The speedo is obvs satellite speeds so be careful through speed cams. - Pressing the padlock whilst driving will save and protect everything thereafter (until you press again) to card and then overwrite earlier saved files so don't accidentally press it if you have files you want to keep. I saw an incident whilst driving and pressed the padlock icon as I assumed it would 'save the current clip' but it just kept going, protecting all further files and then over writing my previous clips. - the rear camera needs a regular wipe or it'll get hazy and it's not very good when it has road spray on it - I would suggest you don't bother wiring the reverse camera in to trigger via reverse light activation, all this does is change the view to full screen (this reduces the width of the screen visible so as to show the full aspect) and also adds the reverse lines that are fixed and tend to just get in the way. I just swipe the screen down when I reverse and it's better - the cable in the box was enough to get all the way to the back of the van to just above the number plate Despite what may appear to be a negative review list, I think this is good value for money as far as a dash cam is concerned and also as far as a rearview alternative. I would recommend

Earlier versions do not have WiFi connection but product is great.
This is a great product and relatively easy to install. The image quality is great. However, it appears that the version I've bought does not have a WiFi connection which makes it pretty redundant for me as I don't own a laptop to read the SD card. It was fitted to a VW Transporter so the rear camera needed an extension cable. Purchased in March 2025, looks like WIFi added from April 2025. Check with the supplier for the actual change. Update- I've purchased the latest version of the G840s as it's a first class product. Wolfbox have also been in touch to discuss my original review. The product was always 1st class but unless I could connect wirelessly then it would give me an issue. My van, now has a wireless connecting camera and it's spot on. Wolfbox have also offered to compensate towards the 1st camera bought, which was my mistake.

Another unreliable camera to let you down when you need it most
I am not going to mention interface, packaging, unboxing, fitting, using etc. It is a waste of time for this device. This is the third mirror attached dash cam setup I have tried. The previous two, different makes, were useless. This one is by far the most expensive and reads as though it will do the job well. However, just like the others it is so unreliable that it is a waste of time and money using it. On every occasion that I have gone to the camera for evidence it has been unable to provide it because of corrupted files. Usually file corruption is blamed on the sd card, and is often the reason, but in this case 3 brand new high speed cards have the same effect. Files are ALWAYS corrupt. Not all files, just the ones you really need. I believe I know why the files required are corrupted, but it's just an assumption. I believe it is because the dashcam processor is not up to the job. A bit like the wifi part of it. What is the point of wifi with a range of about 5 meters? It is pointless!! Whenever an event occurs there is movement which triggers, or should trigger, the camera to record or to keep the recording. Is it coincidence that when there is a lot of movement, and hence a lot of processor power required to create the video file in real-time the files breakdown and corrupted nonsense is stored on the sdcard? The sdcards' transfer rate is enough for very high resolution, high data rate access that far exceeds the requirements of this flakey dashcams iffy quality video. I would bet money on the issue being due to inappropriate processor being used. When the vehicle is parked and nothing is happening the camera creates proper video files that work. As soon as there is action, movement, processing power required, the camera creates a mess on the SDcard. This is illustrated by the total failure of the camera to capture events at track days, unless it is just the parking monitoring! Racing round the track is way to much video information for the camera to process and you end up with neither front nor rear camera recordings. This camera, like most that are not roadhawk or other insurance approved ones, should be avoided. If get the chance I'll post a recorded video from the camera that was supposed to record the two people that broke into the car overnight. It managed to record a brief second or two of audio, capturing one of the people saying" OH S--t it's recording", but no picture and broken sound from a corrupted file - surprise surprise! I think it is time consumers started forcing suppliers to be accountable for their products.
