With the clamor for mask filters, a lot of brands sprouted like mushrooms after a thunderstorm. All of them said exactly the same thing - PM2.5 with 5 layers including a middle layer with activated carbon. Naturally, there will always be unscrupulous manufacturers. So, how to weed out the fakers? Cut the filter and check the contents, right? Of course, you counted the layers and looked for the black middle thingy. Yep, they're all there. Hurrah! I got the real thing! But, wait a minute...are you sure that black layer has activated carbon??? Yes, it's black and carbon is black (who doesn't know what charcoal look like?). But, have you tested if that layer really contains carbon? Well, I did. I bought mask filters from 3 different vendors. They look like clones. Guess, what? One of them had black fabric pretending to be a carbon layer. That batch went back to Amazon via Kohl's. Thank goodness for Amazon's return policy. Now, this product I am reviewing is THE authentic filter with carbon. I attached a photo for reference. See the black soot on the paper? You should see that if you rub the black layer on a paper towel. The filter size is compatible with the cloth mask that I bought after running out of N95 mask (I used to stock this for spraying roses). The filter does not have an odor and they come in a clear cellophane packet. Bottomline, I am impressed with this filter and I am going to buy more from this seller before they run out. What about the other set that I also bought, you might ask. They were ok. There's carbon all right but only a little. I had to rub harder to see the result. FYI, I have NOT been compensated in any way to write this review. I don't even know how that works. Anyway, just trying to share my positive experience with this product.

I was leery at first because these filters were so thin I couldn’t believe they were five layers. But I cut one open and Sure enough, five layers. They fit easily into filter pocket in my two layer homemade masks. My glasses don’t fog up like they do without a filter. It’s a little harder to breathe with the filter in place but only a little. Much more comfortable than an N 95 mask, and much more protective both ways than a cloth mask without a filter.

They are made well and packaged very well. Easy to use in the mask. Easy to change out, Breathable, lightweight. Love way they r packaged.

Economical face mask additions for masks that have a pocket. Add needed extra filter capability. All uniform in size and weight, and nicely machine formed Small enough to fit into most any mask, giving it extra layers of filteraton and protection. Masks, with these filters, are still easy to breath in.

These filters appear to be of high-quality. They fit several face masks that I own and do not detract from the comfort of wearing the mask. Good value as compared to several other identical filters.

Such a relief to get these. shipping was very quick. They seems to be good quality though I can’t really rate them technically. I am so glad to have these to insert in my cloth mask especially since the “surgical” type disposable masks I ordered and paid for through an Amazon marketplace vendor two months ago never came.

For the masks that allow for a filter, these are great. The package provides good back-up for the amount of time that I have to wear a mask.

I like the 5 layer protection, but because both sides are the same color, we don't know which way to put it in our mask. There is no gray side. They are both white, and we have been unable to get or Google an answer.
