32x8 Return Air Vent Cover Grille for Wall or Ceiling Duct Opening - Flat Stamped Steel Grill by HVAC Premium - White - Overall Size: 33.75" x 9.75"

I have an older home with an odd 24x10 duct size on the return air vents. I wasn't able to find a return air vent grille with the slats in this orientation from other sellers on amazon, so I bought this one. The screws it came with are decent quality and the vent was only slightly warped when it got here. It was backed with cardboard to keep it straight, but Amazon placed it in what was basically an empty box and it bounced around a little. As-installed, it looks great and doesn't quite have the same "singing" issue that the builder-installed return-air grille had. I'm getting a second one for the other return air spot because this has better airflow and gives this old duct system a nice modern look from inside the house. My only other thought would be to have white touch-up finish for the screws because the paint did get stripped a little, but it's only noticeable if you look directly at it.

Well built, good steel construction. Easy to use and install. Dimensions are accurate as is the color, which is harder to find in my local hardware stores.

This is a decent grate. This is going to be a little tweaked out of the box because it is a flexy piece of sheet metal that goes through the mail. It’s not a big deal unless it’s bent enough to be kinked (mine wasn’t) since installing it will straighten it out.I’m used to replacing these when painting a room because these show paint imperfections, are a pain to paint, and look pretty bad with more than about one coat of house paint. I’m not used to paying more than about $10 for these since it’s a single hit stamping that costs maybe $2 to make and package even in the US but the size I needed wasn’t available locally at all so maybe that’s just the way it goes...Pro tip:#1 Size doesn’t matter. If some cheap lazy-bones painted over yours and it looks terrible just buy a bigger one by an inch or three.#2 Mount this so you can’t see through it. There’s probably a rough irregular opening behind the grate and you don’t want to be looking through it.#3 the included 1/4” sheet metal screws work just fine by themselves in drywall holding such a tiny amount of weight and that screwdriver with the replaceable bits... if you take the bit out the hole they go in is 1/4” and that’s just what you need.If you scuff up the screws putting this up, appliance touch up paint is super cheap and matches just fine.

Purchased this Return Air Grille as a replacement for my bathroom ceiling HVAC vent cover. My old vent cover had unfortunately started to show rust after 10 years, not unexpected in the bathroom. The vent was very easy to install and looks great now. Nothing fancy about the grille cover, no working parts so time will tell as to how it holds up to the moisture in the air as far as rust issues. The grille came well packaged from the seller with all hardware included and I did receive the package earlier than expected. Would definitely purchase again.

mine was a right size for opening but screw holes were a bit narrow so had to drill 2 new holes on the bottom
