How difficult is installation? Do I need any special tools or supports?

Choose an install spot you can reach by hand. Measure with a tape or ruler. A narrow area above the firebox is ideal. For higher spots, use 6” handle extenders to place the wool pad securely.

Will the product completely block cold drafts, odors, and heat loss?

When fitted correctly, the FlueBlocker stops heating/cooling loss, drafts and odors from a dormant chimney. To eliminate odor, make sure you vacuum out all the ash from the firebox and seal any ash chute or outside intake attached to the firebox.
