Great feeder, helps control overeating.
Great food dish. Wide so no "whisker distress", made out of a smooth plastic/silicone material that's easy to clean, nothing sticks to it to and nothing gums up like some plastic dishes I bought. The center hole is awesome for self-feeding dry kibble. When I feed dry, I measure out his morning/eve feed in the 'main' and put some extra in the hole. So if he's eaten but later is *actually* hungry, he has access without having food splayed out. He's a big boy (was almost 16 pounds when I adopted him 6 mos ago) and needs to drop a few (and has but a little more won't hurt.) I see him staring at the dish or the food in the hole sometimes trying to decide if he's hungry enough to dig some out (which means it's working.) Sometimes he'll paw some out and sometimes he'll just go to the water or go do something else so I know he wasn't really that hungry and if food was "just there" he probably would have munched down for no real reason. Also when he paws some out of the hole, it's just *some* so again, he's gotta think about if he's hungry enough and get some more instead of just munching on whatever's splayed out in front of him. I've seen him do that a few times too where he goes in once or twice and sits and stares deciding if he wants more. And it's not like the food is deep in the hole (I fill it to about 3/4) so really it's just the act of having to put in a bit of effort vs. it just being there that makes him think, and it's enough to slow him down. Also works when I occasionally feed him wet. I can tell if he's just being a bit finicky or genuinely dislikes it because I'll put the wet in the 'main' dish and dry food in the hole. If he really doesn't like the wet I put out (he's strange like that - some he likes and some, after first time, he'll never touch again) then he'll just reach over and dig out the dry. It's gotten to where I know now and leave a side of the main dish empty so he can paw out dry if he wants it onto a clean area of the dish. Sometimes even with wet he likes, I'll see him paw out a bit of dry and have a bite of wet and a bite of dry. Sophisticated tastes on this one!

Quality, efficient feeder for kitties with busy humans
I've been looking for a way to more closely monitor and control the eating behaviors of one of my kitties. Because of my work/travel schedule, he has become a constant and overeater, while his brother struggled to get his own share. They already used raised dishes, and I liked the idea of them having to work a little bit for their food - a natural, but under utilized instinct. The feeder itself is nicely constructed, with the top popping off easily for cleaning. I used to have separate dishes for wet and dry food, but the multi feeder eliminated the need for separate dishes. I am able to put dry food in the little container cup, and I serve wet food out on the tray. They eat the dry food straight from the container cup when the cup is filled, but can also paw or scoop it out of the cup when the supply dwindles. This idea took a few days to fully catch on, but they now enjoy their new eating routine. The biggest selling point to me is the ease of cleaning the feeders - I can just wipe the tray clean with a paper towel without having to scrub with soap and water like I did with previous dishes. As other reviews have noted, the inside of the feeder is empty, which makes the feeder lightweight overall. I put a ziplock bag of dry food and an unopened can of wet food in each of my feeders, which seems to solve the problem of moving around or flipping over. They are also enjoying the new coordinating flower fountain. Love love love catit products!!

Almost perfect
Very good quality. I own 4 of them. Easy to clean and my cats like them. The top fits well but does not snap in place. The only thing keeping this from five stars is they need to be wider at the base. Only one of my cats tips the bowl over but he does so with barely any effort AND THEN the rascal scarfs it up and goes to tip over the bowls of the next 3 cats.

Way bigger than expected but is doing the job to get my senior kitty to slow down
My senior kitty was recently diagnosed with hyperthyroidism, just shy of a year ago, so I am not sure if this is why he is becoming increasingly picky with his kibble, or if it is because he is getting older. I had to change his food 3 times now within 2 years and more recently, I just started to buy the 5 pound bag but different flavor / same brand (wellness), even sooner this time. He of course loved each kind, until he didn't, and is why I decided to start buying the smaller bag, even though it is more cost effective to buy the larger bag in the long run. He oh so loves each new brand/ flavor, so much, (especially this newest flavor) that he was trying to scarf it all down very quickly without chewing, which is when I decided to break out his current slow feeder bowl that I had stored away, when I seen how fast he was trying to eat, (as if he hadn't eaten in days) but that didn't stop him from devouring it in a matter of minutes, throwing it all up immediately following. I then decided to look for some other type of slow feeder bowls, and came across this bowl, as I do recall seeing this one when I was searching for his current slow feeder bowl, a couple years ago, which sorta sounds like it hurts, bumping his teeth and or mouth, as he is trying to retrieve the kibble from between the maze style design, which still didn't stop him from inhaling the new flavor kibble. This one seems to really slow him down, which I'm still not sure he is chewing all of the kibble, like I typically hear him doing. I do think within time of him getting used to the new flavor, he will slow down even more, and will maybe start to chew some of the kibble once again. I did attach a video of how easy this is for kittys to use once they get the hang of it. I did start off by placing a treat in the hole and one in the bowl part to get him underatand the concept, and to want to use it. See the photos of the dimensions of the bowl and how deep and wide the hole is, where the food goes. You can see that I only filled it up about ¾ of an inch = ¼ c x 2 daily, (he gets same brand wet food for dinner) so that he can't just stick his face/ mouth in and go to town. So far, I haven't had to put anything inside under the green feeder/ bowl/ lid, but I may have to fill it up with some rocks, that I have in my garage, if he learns to knock it over. I definitely couldn't put treats or anything of the sort in there, because he'd have a hay day and consume every last one. It does have a rubber ring on the bottom, per picutre attached, to help prevent it from sliding around on the floor. I haven't tried to place it on the floor and I am not sure if I will, since this is only day one of using it and decided to put it up on his cat tower. I feel like here he won't have access to walk around it and get any ideas and will have to stay right in front of it, at all times in order to eat. So far, I am rating this 5 stars out of 5 stars.
