Ubuntu Linux Bible (covering Ubuntu version 20.04) gives you what you need to successfully plan and implement Ubuntu workloads at any level and addressing all use-cases. Whether you're a desktop user, server administrator, or completely new to Linux, you're covered. The book presents the information so that new users get all of the information that they need, while allowing experienced Linux users the freedom to skip directly to the specific details they require. The book covers the recently released 20.04 Long Term Support version of Ubuntu, as well as previous versions. The book is organized into four parts: "Getting Started with Ubuntu Linux," "Ubuntu for Desktop Users," Ubuntu for System Administrators," and "Configuring Servers on Ubuntu." You'll learn about fundamental Linux system administration topics such as creating and managing users, backing up the system, adding new printers and disks to the system, network configuration, and using Ubuntu wirelessly. Ubuntu is known for its many hundreds of thousands of happy desktop users. But it can also be used in an enterprise environment to provide core network and infrastructure services. Review: Useful for a beginner - Would like to see a few tips of the trade. Other than that it is A very readable book. Review: Best book in its class - This is the latest version of the classic "Linux Bible" series, focusing specifically on the Ubuntu flavor of Linux. It is well-organized, well written, and very comprehensive in its coverage of Ubuntu Linux. The production quality is excellent. At less than $30 for over 700 information-packed pages the book represents an outstanding value. I don't know of any other book that covers current versions of Ubuntu Linux as well and as thoroughly as this book does.

Pages Missing!
Seems to be quite comprehensive, but chapters 18 and 19, pages 415 through 446 of 778 total pages, were missing! How does this happen? (No quality control.) Glad I (accidentally) found this before the return window closed. Buy if you don't need to know how to set up an FTP Server and Windows File Sharing (Samba), both missing, and can live with a defective product.

Has Most Things But Not Everything
This is the best Ubuntu Linux text I could find so far. It has all the basics on Linux system administration, how to install and manage major applications (barring Nginx) and services on both desktop and server machines. The only faults I have with this book to date are that: (1) It doesn't have a chapter on configuring an email server on one's host machine, something I personally regard as almost axiomatic for people wanting computing independence. Though the authors omitted this because they believe many users today use a separate mail services like Google Workspaces, I hope they change their priorities in later editions. (2) There is no guidance on backing up system and data files nor how to recover the latter after a system crash. This omission is much more fundamental that the absence of email guidance since data loss is something every user must do their utmost to avoid.
